Storck releases limited edition Aernario Disc

Storck is releasing a limited edition of the Aernario Disc road bike, the Aernario Disc Signature, to mark the 51st birthday of company founder and general manager Markus Storck.

Only 51 of these Aernario Disc Signature bikes will be made.

We first showed you the Aernario Disc when it was launched at Eurobike a couple of years ago. Click this link to see a video of Markus talking through its key features.

The Aernario Disc Signature’s carbon-fibre frameset has a raw (it isn’t painted), hand-polished finish, and it’s built up according to Markus’ own dream spec.

It’s equipped with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic groupset and AX Lightness P38T carbon-fibre wheels. These are handmade in Germany and come with 38mm-deep rims that weigh just 290g each.

The spec is finished with Storck’s new generation Power Arms cranks, plus the brand’s Platinum handlebar and seat post. 

Every bike will be autographed by Markus.

Storck says that this is the lightest disc-equipped road bike on the market at about 6.5kg (14.3lb).

We certainly don’t know of any disc-equipped road bike that’s lighter. Focus was claiming its new SRAM Red Focus Izalco Max Disc was the world’s lightest production disc-equipped road bike and that has a weight of 6.8kg (15lb), bang on the minimum limit for UCI-sanctioned racing. 

How much does it cost? Well, there’s no easy way to say this: one of these bad boys will set you back £10,499.

If you have 10 grand burning a hole in your back pocket, or if you haven’t but you’d like to have a gander anyway, the Storck Aernario Disc Signature is on display at the Storck Bicycle Stand (G121) at The Cycle Show, Birmingham NEC until Sunday (27 September). 

Standard (non-limited edition) versions of the Storck Aernario Disc start at £3,999. That’s for a complete bike in a Shimano 105 build.
