Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories
Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...
I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.
"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

The centre of gravity is far too high for a lot of these big popular vehicles. And because they roll far too easily and they are so heavy, the roofs and more importantly the pillars have to be bigger, thus giving less overall visibility.

Pretty much, because of the size they are awful for aerodynamics and accelerating that mass requires a lot of fuel.
Far worse outcomes for external vulnerable road users too.
I do understand they are great for assuaging feelings of inadequacy though...

Driving around in Cornwall must be an absolute nightmare, it wasn't easy for my parents driving us around on our holidays 40 odd years ago, and they never had a big car.

A relief that it was an erratic motorcyclist that caused his momentary lapse of attention, not a cyclist, he probably could have got away with it otherwise.

I don't understand what mentality it is (RR driver, I suppose) that goes to court when it's clear (so rattled was he by the "erratic motorcyclist" - right) that he pulled out and around the half-barrier, visibly down, behind the car.
I'm assuming that the rail operator has CCTV footage taken from the monitoring camera which makes his cock and bull story just lies. I wonder how much such defenses increase sentences on the basis of being dishonest and showing alack of remorse.
You're a surefire gamblin' man if you take chances at level crossings, so I suppose having your day(s) in court trying to minimise the incident/ your part in it is a logical sequence.
"...a man of previous good character." I wonder with what hollow laugh local cyclists would greet that. Remorse? '...although the defendant denied dangerous driving he did "express concern as to how bad the incident could've been"' so that's all right then.

"Keen cyclist" name of Percy located in Exeter
This could be Exeter's most notorious bollard
The bollard has been damaged again recently which has become a regular sight for cyclist and former Exeter councillor Percy Prowse on his way home. He is calling for the bollard to be removed to save taxpayers money.
"The council does not need to hold a public consultation the remove the bollard. Just take it away because it doesn't stop people turning left as they do it all the time and it will save lots of money."
