It was only back in November when Canyon updated the Neuron CF, so it hasn’t taken long for the brand to turn its attention to the alloy, AL models. For 2022, the Neuron AL gets the same geometry as the carbon bikes and there’s a new bike for those little rippers, the Neuron Young Hero.

Canyon’s updated range of Neuron AL bikes consists of six builds. Each of which sees fresh, up-to-date kit from the likes of Fox, RockShox, DT Swiss, SRAM, and Shimano. We’ll get into more detail on the spec a bit later.
With the new Neuron AL, the brand wanted to create a consistent ride characteristic across the size range and has done so with the use of different wheel sizes that are correctly proportioned to the frame size and rider, says Canyon. As such, sizes XS and smaller roll on 650b wheels (that includes the Young Hero bike). Each of the bigger sizes benefits from bigger, 29″ wheels.
Going back to that Neuron Young Hero, it’s a bike made especially for kids but it gets the same componentry but with some parts that are tailor-made to littler riders, such as 130mm of travel at the front, shorter cranks, and a narrower handlebar.
The adult-sized Neuron gets 140mm of travel up the front complemented with 130mm at the rear.
Prices for the new Neuron AL start from £1,600 for the Young Hero model. Then, it increases to £1,900 for the Neuron 5, kitted with a RockShox Silver fork and Deluxe shock, and a Shimano Deore 1×12 drivetrain. Prices then top out at £2,650 for a Neuron that comes with Shimano XT shifting, a Fox 34 Performance fork, and DPS shock.
With that, the 5, 6, and 7 models are available in women’s specific builds that come in sizes 2XS up to M. The unisex bikes’ size ranges from XS to XL.
