Vulpine Cycling Fete this Sunday

…And it’ll have its own newspaper, called The Shoe Drying Kit

Cycle clothing brand Vulpine are holding their Français Cycling Fete in Teddington this Sunday, 14 July, which is Bastille Day.

We’ve told you about the fete before but, in Vulpine’s own words, it is, “A fun, dynamic, inclusive way to enjoy all aspects of cycling and keep non-cyclists entertained too. There's no snobbery, just great creativity, atmosphere, booze and British entrepreneurial cycling companies that do what they do to a very high standard indeed.”

As well as Vulpine, there will be frame building by The Bicycle Academy, Rollapaluza roller racing, and bike maintenance demos. There will be stalls from the likes of Enigma, Simpson and Rouleur. You can get all the info from the Vulpine website

The event takes place at La Cloche at The Lion, 27 Wick Road, Teddington, TW11 9DN. It’s open from noon until 6pm and entry is free.

Anyway, on top of all that, Vulpine have collaborated with Newspaper Club to make a product that they say will improve wet weather cycling forever.

Vulpine say, “The Shoe Drying Kit is a product manufactured in the UK from 32 pages of paper specially chosen to yield the correct amount of absorption, and has been lavishly illustrated by our creative friends to make the stuffing process more enjoyable.”

Yes, it’s a newspaper. But it’s a bike-specific newspaper of stories that are said to be inspired by optimism and cycling in the rain. Contributors include Robert Millar, 4th place finisher and King of the Mountain in the Tour de France back in 1984, and runner-up in both the Giro and the Vuelta.

The Shoe Drying Kit will launch at the Vulpine Cycling Fete and will later be
available free from Vulpine stockists. Then it will be sent as a treat with Vulpine orders, until they run out.
