It’s a small but perfectly-formed list of seven great cycling products for our June Recommends selection, and with the month ending on a scorcher when it comes to the weather, we also signed off with a scorcher of a bike recommendation as Cannondale’s new Synapse bagged a 9/10 score. Plus, two products achieved hallowed 10/10 scores!

Here’s a list of all seven products that made the Recommends cut in June, with some more info about each one further down the page:

We’ll go straight in with a 10/10 review, this “brilliantly written” book containing more than 40 oat-based recipes for fuelling your cycling courtesy of former world champion cyclist and duathlete Emma Pooley.

The recipes include clear instructions, the images are great quality and the recipes themselves are all rather tasty. Pooley’s writing is engaging and informative, and there’s plenty of personal anecdotes and stories across the many excellent creations that Pooley has perfected herself.

Our reviewer concludes: “Emma’s humour, determination and commitment shine through. She doesn’t shy away from expressing her sentiments. Her passion for sharing sport and influencing others in a positive way is infectious.”

Pedibal Navigata with throttle

This electric folder is ideal if you’re after a portable commuting bike with plenty of power, plus a street-legal throttle for extra power from a dead start (you find out how it’s legal in the full review).

The ride is comfortable, the power is good for the style of bike and our reviewer got around 25 miles of range on a hilly route. That throttle is also very handy on hill starts, or when you want to get away quickly at the traffic lights.

JetBlack Victory Smart Trainer with Zwift Cog and Click

It’s very rare we award a 10/10 score… let alone two in a month, and let alone for a turbo trainer! The JetBlack Victory has gone where no trainer has gone before on road.cc, though, thanks to its pro-level specs at a much friendlier price point than top-end smart trainers.

Equipped with Zwift’s singlespeed cog, the Victory couldn’t be easier to set up and use with almost any road bike. It has a useful handle to make it easy to cart around, there are loads of connectivity options – including WiFi – and it’s impressively accurate.

We don’t think there’s a better value smart trainer out there right now, hence the 10/10 score.

SRAM Rival AXS 2025

Though the price has jumped over the previous version, our reviewer largely found this to be justified as SRAM has established itself as the mid-tier electronic groupset market leader.

Our man Stu loved the ergonomics, praising the position and shape of the shifters, and says there has been huge improvements in braking power and modulation. There’s plenty of battery life so you rarely need to charge up, and set-up is super simple.

Rapha Pro Team Powerweave Road Shoes

> Buy from Rapha for £350.00

They may be £350, but Rapha’s Pro Team Powerweave road shoes are aimed at elite riders, and our in-house elite Emily Tillett found these kicks to be excellent if you can afford them.

The fit is sock-like, and paired with a stiff sole they’re ideal for anything from crits to ultra racing. The BOA dials are micro-adjustable, they’re super comfortable, and they’re made from recycled materials for extra eco brownie points. If you can trust yourself to keep them clean, they’re some of the best high-end road shoes on the market.

Capable of straying off-road too thanks to the wide tyre clearance, the latest Synapse in its Shimano 105 Di2 guise is a great option if you want a do-it-all bike that will last years, at a price that isn’t too astronomical.

You’ll find the frame has balanced geometry for all-day riding, and the handy additional down tube storage is ideal for big days out. Shimano 105 electronic shifting is solid (if not quite as good as SRAM Rival nowadays according to our reviewer), and you get a well considered cockpit with full internal cable routing.
