This may not be the best bike for sale on ebay, but it is certainly the best bike description, in fact it’s probably the best product descrption bar none. Worth hitting the link and reading the "Ask the seller" questions and answers too… Sadly though, this item has ended – isn’t that just always the way.

@perce I think it's so barmy that it can't be genuine- it's a Parody Nutter account. No real nutter could be this dim. Last time I actually read his tripe he was making up some highly unconvincing story about cyclists inciting/ making up close passes, and I see he's making up bollocks again.

Agreed- the sum requested is peanuts and is a tiny fraction of the money that could be recovered by DVLA (the department which makes Border Force and the Home Office in general look like the Swiss Railways) taking VED evasion seriously. I have bored people on here endlessly with the number of people evading VED for years in just this small market town of Garstang ( Best Small Town in the UK in the Britain in Bloom competition!), but DVLA simply refuses to do anything about the fraud, for fear of being seen as part of the War on the Motorist. DVLA already knows about these people, because they're mostly shown on DVLA's own database as still getting MOTs- don't know why, as the government and the police couldn't give a toss about MOT offences either.

I'm completely unsurprised about this. Any of these electric motorbikes should be seized and crushed. They facilitate antisocial behaviour and criminality, and the ultimate ending is something akin to Middleborough. Just a few weeks ago I was at my local bike shop and a really fat guy jumped off one of these ugly contraptions and was refused custom due to the fact the bike had a throttle. Cue self-entitled behaviour, and when the bike shop owner went to explain the poor guy inadvertently set off the throttle and was dragged down the pavement, narrowly avoiding a serious injury. In my view all of these motorised bikes, including those that are currently legal, should all be outlawed and crushed. Lawlessness is completely out of control on this country and the police need to get their priorities right before it's too late. Send in the army if necessary.

I must put in a word for Merseyrail, which is brilliant and allows you to travel with your bike from Southport to Chester for only twice the price of just one stage under the Mersey. The staff, and even the other passengers, are unfailingly helpful. I admit that my comment is tainted by 'I'm alright Jack'-ism, because I'm only travelling with a food-powered bike. I assume that the exclusion for folding e-bikes is due to the greater difficulty in detecting the electric 'works', but I haven't yet seen a folding bike of any type in the bikebays on any of my numerous journeys

@wtjs Well, it's the 'worst' for him! If found guilty, I suspect it'll be a much shorter sentence. But even in Florida I'd like to think that sort of behaviour is, er, illegal. But what do I know...!?!

If you remove the battery from your E-Bike and carry the battery in the rest of your luggage, the E-Bike is presumably just like any other manually-powered bike and would therefore be allowed on the train. There would need to be a regulation that bans hand carrying large batteries on the train or in the station to block this workaround.

“no single solution” to the issue [of pavement driving]" Well I can think of one thing that would go a long, long way to reducing the problem: sack the Guernsey’s Environment and Infrastructure Committee and put in some people who can analyse a problem properly, find solutions that work, and at least care about people other than drivers. Honestly, every time you think motornormativity has hit a peak, some car-obsessed politician proves you wrong. Absolutely staggering that anyone with a plurality of brain cells can adopt the position that driving on a footpath is acceptable, excusable and inevitable. If they had any conscience they'd resign to save the trouble of sacking them. I don't have enough polite words to describe their attitude: anyone got any suggestions?
