2021 Cowboy air quality appCowboy updates urban navigation app with air quality routing algorithm
Cowboy has partnered with Breezometer, a provider of hyper-local air quality data, to launch a new feature to its navigational app that takes into account the air quality of routes across cities. This new feature allows urban riders to get to their destination via the cleanest roads and cycle paths.

The Brussels-based e-bike company has updated its navigational app to provides urban riders with new valuable health information, alongside a turn-by-turn navigational experience.
The app displays a real-time time heatmap of air quality, and is said to allow riders to make well-informed decisions when moving in and around cities. It gives you the choice of several route options, including the cleanest route as well as the fastest.
Putting riders’ heath first, Cowboy’s aim is “to take the navigation experience to the next level by offering its community to rally their destination through the cleanest air itinerary”, so it says.
This new feature is said to reaffirm the brand's commitment to providing riders with the optimal urban mobility experience.

I am definitely more afraid of poor air quality when I cycle next to "eco" huge diesel SUVs rather than them actually hitting me. I do have to mention that I also faced a very significant loss in smell after a couple of years as an urban cyclist, so I don't think I am a weirdo.
Poor air quality slowly and silently takes much more cyclist lifes than cars. Yes, electric cars may be very dubious in their life cycle ecofriendliness, but their benefit in improving air quality where it matters most, is indisputable.

I'm actually more concerned about the air quality inside the office that I have to spend the following 8 hours in. And as this app will poiny out, opening the window is less likely to be the solution.
It does look a useful app though and air quality is a huge problem at the moment, both indoor and outdoor.
