The dockless stations for Edinburgh’s Just Eat Cycles bike hire scheme are to close due to unexpectedly high levels of vandalism. The Scotsman reports that all 31 ‘virtual stations’ are to be closed. Just Eat Cycles said that as well as significant damage, 50 bikes had gone missing.

2. Cyclists deliver match whistle to Rugby World Cup after riding from Twickenham to Japan
Two cyclists have delivered referee Nigel Owens’ whistle for the opening game of the Rugby World Cup in Japan, having set off from Twickenham on February 2. Ron Rutland and James Owens have covered 12,485 miles across 27 countries to reach the World Cup, raising over £65,000 for the tournament's official charity, ChildFund Pass It Back.

Police are appealing for information after a club cyclist was pushed off by a motorbike passenger in Birmingham on Tuesday. Andrew Marsden, 67, said that as the men rode off, they also tried to push a friend he was riding with.
