Good or bad, there's a strong tradition of bike brands pulling out some special products ahead of big bike races, and with the Giro d’Italia starting this weekend CeramicSpeed has just dropped news of its limited edition pink jockey wheels. Pink jockey wheels people!
It may be the first time we’ve seen pink jockey wheels (correct me if I'm wrong) but it’s not the first Giro flavoured products we’ve ever seen. Last week Elite turned out a limited edition (pink is always a limited edition colour it seems) Drivo trainer, Canyon launched a replica pink bike a few years ago and plenty of other brands have been dipping into the pink paint pots too, as this roundup of 15 products demonstrates.
The CeramicSpeed oversized pulley wheels are the same as its regular ones, but anodised pink. They’ll be used by the AG2R La Mondiale team in the Giro, but the team has already been riding the regular OSPW jockey wheels as we’ve spotted in the past.

Aside from the pink hue, the oversized jockey wheels are claimed by CeramicSpeed to provide lower friction and longer lifetime than regular jockey wheels. They are available in various combinations and are compatible with Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo groupsets up to a cassette size of 32-tooth. IT's also offering regular sized jockey wheels too.
No press release is complete without some favourable quotes from sponsored riders. AG2R’s Matteo Montaguti says it’s important to achieve the smoothest ride possible.
“With a race as physically demanding as the Giro d’Italia, it’s extremely important to ensure all marginal gains are maximised so we have the best possible chance to triumph in the mountains,” he says.
Alexandre Geniez, who finished 9th in the Giro back in 2015, added: “The Giro is such a special race. With the OSPW from CeramicSpeed I have no need to worry about an underperforming drivetrain and, with 21 stages in total, we all have very high demands from our equipment.”
And the price for all this pinkness? The oversized pulley wheels are €459 and the standard sized pulley wheels are €199. Remember, they’re limited so be quick if you want some (here’s looking at you VecchioJo) available from 4th May.
