The Tour de France has its iconic yellow jersey, but  the Giro d’Italia has its famous pink maglia rosa leader's jersey, which owes it colour to the Giro's founding newspaper, La Gazzetta dello Sport. The city of Belfast has been going mad painting everything pink to mark the Grand Tour starting in Northern Ireland, and we’ve decided to join in with the fun by rounding up 15 pink cycling products to show your appreciation for the race.

Santini Giro d'Italia Leaders jersey (£74.99), a replica of the maglia rosa to be worn by the race leader, and official jersey sponsor Santini are offering it in seven sizes.

How about treating your bike to some pink Fizik Performance bar tape for the duration of the Giro?

Rapha's Pro Team socks (£15) are available in pink (as well as white, yellow and black) complete with contrasting black label, heel and toe areas. They’re made from three types of fabric with mesh panels in key places to keep your feet cool, and they’re available in two lengths.

This Prendas black/pink cotton cycling cap (£7.50) is made in Italy and features a pink peak and central stripe with a printed Italian scudetto (shield) on the side.

dhb’s Blok Roubaix Neon Pink Arm Warmers (£18) let you add a splash of pink to your cycling outfit without going over the top. They’re made from Lombardia Italian brushed Roubaix fabric so will keep your arms snug in the changeable spring weather.

Spring is oversocks weather, and Defeet offer their excellent Slipstream oversocks (£14.99) in a range of colours, including pink.

Need some new tyres? How about these Schwalbe Ultremo ZX folding tyres (£39.99) which are available in a huge range of striped colours, including pink.

Defeet also produce their Duraglove long fingered Cordura gloves (£14.99) in pink so you can pair with the oversocks. The gloves now have material on the fingertips that lets you easily use a smartphone.

Make a statement with Foska’s Oska Flouro pink cycling jersey, available for men and women. It is made from Coolmax material with a three-quarter length zip and three rear pockets, finished with the company’s logo across the chest panel.

If you’re in Ireland watching the start of the race, this official Giro d’Italia umbrella (£76.50) could come in very useful.

Bont offer you the opportunity to customise the colours of their Vaypor+ carbon fibre shoes (£250) and pink is one of the colour options.

Rapha’s Hi-Vis gilet (£110) comes in yellow or this fetching pink, created for riding at night or in low light, making it ideal for commuting or any bigger adventures you might have planned

No cycling outfit is complete without a pair of shades these days, and if you want to show a bit of Giro love then how about these pink Radar Edge glasses (£175) from Oakley?

Wrap up your Garmin Edge 510 in a pink silicone cover (other colours are available) and it’ll keep it protected from dirt and falls as well as bringing a dash of pink to your bike. Costs £7.99.

Finally, how about this Kask Mojito Grand Tour helmet (£120) that is available in the colours of the three Grand Tours, yellow, red and pink? You could have one for each race. Underneath the pink is a 220g helmet with 26 vents with an EPS shell and it’s made in Italy.

I splashed out on the bar tape for my wife. Told her Rapha is a no-no (basically only worn by greedy bankers). I hope it worked...

Extra bike? What extra bike dear?
