Come, feel the Epic!

A picture says a thousand words, so I won't wax lyrical about the Taiwan King of The Mountain Challenge. Briefly put, it's 0 - 3275 metres in 105km. The scenery is outstanding, the riding awesome, the food fabulous. The country? well worth a visit for fantastic riding and friendly people.

I've managed to cobble together a selection of images from Daniel Simms and Peloton Images Asia who very kindly took pity on me after I scratched out early in the race. When I view the pictures and recall just how wet and cold it was, not to mention how hard it looked, it just makes me want to go back and do it again!

Lovely photographs. Note to web team, the slide show doesn't work too great on tablets. Full screen mode pops in and out when you try swiping.

That's Jo Hogan, Aussie professional, she was taken out quite early on by someone falling into her. She was fairly bruised and battered, but remounted and carried on, finishing 4th in the women's race!

Great photos, and some genuine distress in evidence.

'scuse my ignorance though, but what is going on in pic 2? Is it a particularly evil wipeout, or a some form of handlebar assisted hamstring stretch? Either way, it doesn't look like something I want to be doing.
