    That’s infuriating I agree.
That’s infuriating I agree. I don’t know what to do about it though, sorry.

@Stumps, any ideas from the ‘inside’? Will calling someone get it looked at?

Presumably the driver’s defence if caught will be that your wheel ‘shouldn’t have been in the road’ or some such. Did you take pics of the location and your position? Where did it happen?

That’s a great list. Before you go calling in any more favours, I’d see how much that lot raises first!

Well if you wanted a silent
Well if you wanted a silent auction, you could just invite private messages with the bids in. Post a copy of the winning bid.

However, personally I think I like the raffle idea. I think it would also possibly raise more, since I don’t have enough (a few hundred £ for an average pro’s jersey? Even more?) to spare on a winning bid, but I’d drop £20 on a few tickets. Recession/christmas and all that, I reckon I wouldn’t be the only one.

Do you think your team might be able to help my appeal with a donate of something for auction? http://www.gofundme.com/Gkam84

Within minute’s I’ve already had replies and direct messages from BMC and Orica Greenedge asking me to email their office’s. 😀

Fingers crossed now. Just have to write out a nice email to them

Col Coldeportes are on board and are willing to donate something :O

    Blimey! Here’s hoping.

just watched the vid – it’s cool, I’d love to ride that little route, then stop for a snack by the river! Looks great.

I figured that the ‘negativity’ would be something like what you said, but you only need to read replies to high-profile tweeters or comments on news stories to see that there are too many evolutionary throwbacks that shouldn’t be allowed near an internet connection. Sod em.

I’m not lucky enough to know any pro’s though! I’d love a framed/signed rainbow jersey one day, but god knows what that might cost…

How timely. I work from home one day a week and get out for an hour at lunch. I’m sat here looking at the wind battering the small conifer in the back garden and listening to it howling down the chimney.

However, if I don’t go out, I’ll regret it.

    Cool stuff, forget the
Cool stuff, forget the negative bits, full steam ahead and all that. I’ve been trying to think of other things which could raise something. I’m cultivating a moustache for Movember, but that’s cancer charities. I’ve committed to some big group walk thing, but it’s a. months away, and b. for oxfam. No-one’s going to sponsor me for a bike ride since they know I’d ride regardless.

If only one of those pro’s would send you a signed jersey to auction! 😀

Seems crazy that you should be struggling with this in London of all places. There is a Spesh concept store though:

Spesh seem good at the female stuff, they apparently have an entire product team devoted to womens-specific kit, and are one of the firms that don’t simply ‘paint it pink and give it a silly name’. They’ll do a good bike fitting as well.

Slightly OT, but I’d love to know why the spinning doesn’t translate directly to the bike, despite trying to make the riding position as similar as possible.

I think the reason why spinning doesnt translate directly to the bike is because when yer out on the road youre carrying your own weight where ya not doing so on a static spinning bike :)

Granted, but surely if I’m working hard enough to really struggle on the tough bits then recover in between, then body weight shouldn’t matter? Or to put it another way, it seems most people feel that turbo training translates to outdoor riding, so why not spinning?

the only problem is that i don’t have a credit card (so would have to post you the money) my e mail address is adamibanezcunningham@hotmail.co.uk.

will try and sell it this week (there’s a shop in devizes that buys 2nd hand stuff.

take it easy bud (you’ll get that trike before you know it ;-)

What a great thing to do for someone, this fund might take a while but there’s some cool things happening along the way!

I just wear high heels all the time.

    Oh sorry, that’s for my *other* forum… :”> 😀

Core strengthening, stretching, spinning classes and a little weight-training. However, before you think “blimey!”, this is because I only get two actual outdoor rides a week currently. When I add in a third ride per week, it seems to have a more noticeable benefit than the above.

Slightly OT, but I’d love to know why the spinning doesn’t translate directly to the bike, despite trying to make the riding position as similar as possible.

I paid £15 in Edinburgh Bike Co-op for a Revolution (‘Sport’?) model, I can’t believe how much elbow grease was needed using my mini pump compared to this!

Re the video, I haven’t had chance to watch it yet. I tend to look at this site when I have a couple of minutes at work etc. I’ll let you know once I’ve seen it.

    Great news on the progress.

EDIT: I wish I had room for your fixie, but sadly not!
