Or both. I mean they’re not
Or both. I mean they’re not wrong that the state of Oxfordshire’s roads makes them dangerous to cyclists. It’s just a bit odd that they’ve only just noticed, given that it’s the result of them having been left to slowly rot away for the last decade or so, during most of which time the council was controlled by *checks notes* ah – the Conservatives.

I don’t think they’ve come in
I don’t think they’ve come in from that end at all – all three approaches are bollarded, and I don’t think there’s room to get through. I think they must have have driven in from the market square, where you might be able to squeeze through, or there’s a drop bollard that might have been down, and all the way up the precinct, before turning the corner and encountering the fingerpost. Still baffled as to how you’d think that was a good idea though.

If you’ve bought a car that’s too big for the environment, I see no problem with fining you for parking it there – leave it somewhere where there is space. Or buy a different car. Or don’t drive.

“Catastrophic damage”. To a wall. One wonders what adjective they would have reached for if it had been a person.

Looking at streetview, they
Looking at streetview, they are correct that large signs have been replaced with small ones. But that’s because they were previously telling you that you were going from a 20 limit into a 30 limit, whereas now you’re going from a 20 into, er, a 20, so you only get a repeater sign. And there actually appear to be 20 repeaters where there were no 30 repeaters before.

I assumed that a commuter road was like the Room of Requirement – it travels to wherever people need to drive on it.
