Looking at streetview, they are correct that large signs have been replaced with small ones. But that’s because they were previously telling you that you were going from a 20 limit into a 30 limit, whereas now you’re going from a 20 into, er, a 20, so you only get a repeater sign. And there actually appear to be 20 repeaters where there were no 30 repeaters before.

I assumed that a commuter road was like the Room of Requirement – it travels to wherever people need to drive on it.

Where do drivers think that tyre or brake disc that started on 8mm and is now 3 mm has gone??

My guess is most don’t even know what those things are, they take their cars to a garage, pay the bill and drive away to watch while watching some more cat videos.

    There’s permeable and then

There’s permeable and then there’s permeable, though. Even a permeable driveway is likely to increase runoff vs the garden it replaced – just not as much as a non-permeable one.

On my bike, I use the very high tech solution of manually rotating my light fwd and down on the handlebar.

With most lights, though, this approach will quickly lead to your light flapping loosely while pointing mostly at your front wheel.

BBC reheats the “roundabout with painted designs” story (featured on road.cc a while back)

I’m pretty sure this is at least the third time the BBC have had a story on this – not sure why they keep forgetting that they’ve covered it.

To be fair, they do have

To be fair, they do have their beam comparer tool, which helps you understand where the light will go. It does rely on the purchaser bothering to read the guidance, though, rather than just going “this one’s brighter – it must be better”.
