Ah, well, Abingdon’s a whole different story!
OK – if I suspend local chauvinism for a moment, I’d have to admit that large parts of Abingdon are a dormitory wasteland as well, but at least its got some historic touristy bits in the centre, and some riverside to enjoy. All Didcot’s got is Thomas the Tank Engine.

I’d say the only unreasonable thing about that plan is there are much nicer places to stop than Didcot. ;o)

Sorry you’ve had to go through that.
Did the video capture the object being thrown at you? That’s a bit more than aggressive (antisocial) behaviour – you were physically assaulted, though I imagine it might be difficult to interest the police in treating it as that if it can’t be evidenced.
If your concern is about opening a criminal case being too ‘serious’ for the offence, I wouldn’t be – this person is almost certainly going to be a danger to others in future, so the more seriously it’s addressed the better.

Fairy Liquid may not damage your bike, but ‘Fairy Liquid is FINE’ is a somewhat more contentious claim:
https://www.ethicalconsumer.org/home-garden/shopping-guide/ethical-washing-up-liquidOf course, your bike-specific cleaner of choice might not do much better if it was assessed (though it could hardly do worse).
Even Ecover does surprisingly poorly there, but there are others you could upgrade to.

But the driver was an innocent victim. Question is – has the car been arrested?

I mean, who hasn’t assaulted someone because they were ‘very frustrated’ with a parking machine? And after all, he ‘didn’t mean to’ do it, and he ‘very much regrets it’ – possibly even as much as the previous two (at least) occasions.

Obviously nothing wrong with someone with these kinds of anger issues being behind the wheel of a car…

You can’t have historic buildings because we need people to drive past our shops.
