BE Headwear has achieved the Kickstarter funding for its BE-Link 4.0 helmet-mounted sound system.

The fourth generation product has components that measure 47mm x 42mm x 11mm, and a new Kradle mounting system allows you to attach it easily to different helmets for various activities – not just cycling but motorcycling, skateboarding, and so on.

“Turn-by-turn navigation, Strava or your favourite mix can be in your ear without cutting you off from the world and becoming a danger to yourself and those around you,” says BE Headwear.

You can control the sound through your phone or via the Be-Link Bluetooth external controller that you can mount to your handlebar. This allows you to change tracks and answer your phone, for example. It also comes with a USB attachable boom mic for talking on your phone.

BE Headwear claims a 2-3hr charge time and 8-10hrs of use.

If you want to be in line for the version with a handlebar mount you need to pledge at least US$137 (about £104). BE Headwear says that it will ship anywhere in the world with a delivery date expected to be December 2016. All the usual Kickstarter rules apply.
