A motorist involved in a road rage incident last year filmed by BBC presenter Jeremy Vine as he cycled through Kensington has appealed against her conviction.
Shanique Syrena Pearson had been due to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court yesterday, reports the Huffington Post, but instead lodged an appeal.
The 22-year-old had been found guilty on 1 February at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court of using threatening or abusive behaviour and driving without reasonable consideration in relation to the incident, which took place last July.
The case was referred to the crown court for sentencing since Pearson was already subject to a suspended sentence for actual bodily harm and assault. She was warned she could face a custodial sentence as a result of her latest conviction.

The student from Vauxhall, who was also convicted of driving an unlicensed video, was filmed by Vine as she angrily confronted him as she drove behind him in Hornton Street, Kensington.
A video uploaded to Facebook by the BBC Radio 2 presenter and Crimewatch host, which has had more than 600,000 views on the social network, showed her swearing and kicking out at him.
Pearson’s appeal will be heard at Isleworth Crown Court on 18 April.

BBC news reports appeal has been rejected and driver jailed.
I have to wonder if this has only gone as far as this with the incident happening to the BBC's Jeremy Vine. If it was Joe Public I wonder what the outcome may have been. Just wondering !
An appeal seems like an obvious last throw of the dice. I expect that she's receiving legal aid, so little if any additional cost to her, it drags the process out and postpones any possible jail term. she's already been convicted, so if she loses the appeal it won't add anything to her sentence.

Probably shouldn't really be allowed to drive a motor vehicle. I mean innocent poor-sighted people or eplieptics don't have the right to drive, so why should she?

Driving an unlicensed video? Is that really an offence?
I think it's appalling that these victimless crimes of video piracy can attract much higher legal scrutiny than other driving offences...
Perhaps if you break the speed limit by fast forwarding.
