Jo Burt has spent the majority of his life riding bikes, drawing bikes and writing about bikes. When he’s not scribbling pictures for the whole gamut of cycling media he writes words about them for road.cc and when he’s not doing either of those he’s pedaling. Then in whatever spare minutes there are in between he’s agonizing over getting his socks, cycling cap and bar-tape to coordinate just so. And is quietly disappointed that yours don’t He rides and races road bikes a bit, cyclo-cross bikes a lot and mountainbikes a fair bit too. Would rather be up a mountain.

I would not be too happy
I would not be too happy having to replace the luggage carrier every time I replaced the contents! Maybe the carrier has a choice of finishes, but what colour bar tape would you choose (see Friday Schwag)

Look there'll always be some opportunities to cycle . The 'sparks' will be ok for PAT testing and some simple repairs . Heck I've seen London Fire Brigade cycling around testing hydrants near Little Venice . More sense than taking a car . For most trades , nah Beer barrels empty , sure .

@Rendel Harris I suspect my power recollection is wrong in that case - after all I was new to cycling and wattage didn't mean much to me. I'm pretty sure the coach knew his stuff. But the statement gave a good illustration of the huge gulf in ability between decent club and top professional cyclists.

@Mr Blackbird Coach was a bit high in his estimation there if it was 325-350W, Pogacar's highest recorded three hour output is 299W, so an average Tour de France rider 10 years ago...

Good job bike theft isn't a problem in London then. Oh, wait... Still, at least there's no bike jacking. Oh, wait... Mind you it never rains, so at least your tools won't get wet. Oh, wait.
