OPINION

For Mike

Avatar
A long ride in memory of a friend. It wouldn't have been long for him.

Three years ago I was riding the LVIS Audax in memory of Steve Worland, and yesterday it was for another of the good guys, taken long before their time. And yet again, it was the kind of ride that makes you remember why you do this stuff. Mike would have loved it, and beaten me round by hours, and ridden home to Wales. Ride on.

Dave is a founding father of road.cc, having previously worked on Cycling Plus and What Mountain Bike magazines back in the day. He also writes about e-bikes for our sister publication ebiketips. He's won three mountain bike bog snorkelling World Championships, and races at the back of the third cats.

A very fitting tribute...

It was a smashing day out 1 and was nice to ride with you, if only for a short time (whilst I grumbled about paying postage for socks!)

Yet another year when I question why I dont ride out to Hill for the first sunday of the month 1 how's about a Road.cc ride out to Hill?   1

The Hill WI stop on the Ball Buster is the very best thing ever. In fact all the stops on that ride are fantastic. I can't recommend it highly enough.
