The Hackney-based custom frame builder Rob Quirk has announced the release of two strictly limited editions of his Mamtor and Durmitor frames, the latter developed with Rapha founder Simon Mottram specifically to tackle the mammoth 220-mile Manchester to London mega sportive. For Quirk Cycles, this signals a move from purely bespoke builds to small-batch production runs which will still be tightly controlled. Full design and manufacturing oversight will remain in London.
Starting with the less exclusive (but still very exclusive) of the two, the Mamtor endurance road bike frame will be available worldwide with just 25 individually numbered frames to create the Founder’s Batch Edition. Each frame will be hand-built in London using Columbus Life tubing and proprietary 3D printed stainless steel dropouts, head tube and seat cluster.
In addition, each of the 25 frames will feature a polished stainless steel Founder’s head badge and individual frame numbering. The framesets will be available in 6 sizes from XS to XL, as well as in 3 colours: Creighton Brown, Hyperion Azzuro (Light Blue) and Verde Gea Lucido (Gold).
Founder’s Build Notes will be supplied, which document the thought process behind the Mamtor, and an invitation to a private London workshop ride and evening are included with the purchase.

A tapered steerer ENVE carbon fork, 12mm thru-axles, UDH derailleur hanger and T47 bottom bracket keep thing modern standards-wise, as do flat mount hydraulic braking and electronic only gears. They are compatible with either Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS and Campagnolo Wireless electronic road and gravel groupsets. It’s good to see mudguards mounts included too, with a maximum tyre width of 30mm with mudguards fitted, or 40mm if the frame is left au naturel.
This limited run of 25 frames are available to order until the 31st March 2026, and will not be produced again in this specification. The frameset is priced at £4,999.

With an even more limited edition of just five frames, the Manchester to London Collector’s Edition of the Durmitor frame has been developed with Rapha’s founder Simon Mottram. The finished product took over a year to arrive at, according to Mottram.
Mottram, who has ridden the M2L ten times, knows what he wants from a long-distance bike, such as the ability to ride 350km/220 miles in a day whilst remaining comfortable, but also importantly retaining good ride quality and staying lightweight. To that end Columbus Hyperion titanium tubes have been used, along with 3D-printed custom dropouts, head tube and seat cluster made in 6/4 titanium. The ‘regular’ Durmitor uses Columbus Spirit steel tubing.
“Comfort was my priority, but never at the expense of ride quality or weight. This is the bike I want to ride M2L – fast, reliable, and built to last a lifetime”, Mottram said on his Instagram page.
Each individually commissioned frameset will be hand-made in Rob Quirk’s London workshop, and Quirk says that the “…brushed titanium paired with clean white accents gives the bike a timeless, purposeful aesthetic worthy of a collector’s piece.” In addition the ENVE In-Route carbon fork, bar and stem are hand painted in white with the M2L logo.

Each bike includes custom white M2L Tailfin top tube and half-frame bags designed specifically for the frame. Both bags mount cleanly using recessed bolts and can be removed without disrupting the bike’s lines. No unsightly Velcro straps to wear the paint away here! Riders can choose whether to fit either or both bags, or to not fit either, depending on the ride planned.

A custom 3D printed Titanium 27.2mm seatpost has also been tuned to increase compliance and reduce fatigue over long rides. It was developed exclusively for this limited run. The Quirk Signature is a nice touch to be found at the rear of the seat rail clamp.
The cost is a not insubstantial £9,250 for the frameset and custom luggage, however a generous £875 donation to the national charity Ambitious about Autism does make up some of the cost of this exclusive run of five bikes. A 13-week lead time is being quoted, so you can expect it to be ready sometime in July 2026 if you want one.

1 thought on ““The perfect endurance bike”: Quirk Cycles unveils two very exclusive framesets, including one developed with Rapha founder Simon Mottram to tackle 220-mile Manchester to London ride”
Of course they are 5 and 10 grand.. because Simon Mot has invested and because Rapha has lost 200$ dollars and his shares are now worth a packet of Cheese and Onion crisps, he needs the cash for more ‘exclusive’ things. ‘exclusive’ stuff is killing our sport.
PS the welds are god awful.
