The predecessor, the Castelli Espresso jersey, scored 9/10 in our review and also received a road.cc Recommends badge of honour, thanks to its excellent breathability, stylish looks and great fit.

US brand Sans specialises in air and water purification, and we’re testing its self-cleaning water bottle. While it’s not designed specifically for cycling, plenty of us use bottles off the bike too – whether on a bikepacking trip or staying hydrated at the office before an evening group ride.

The Sans self-cleaning bottle promises to do exactly what it says on the tin, using UV-C light purification to kill harmful bacteria before it’s ingested. The brand claims it can eliminate 99.9% of E. coli and Staphylococcus in a three-minute cycle. It also doubles as an insulated bottle, keeping drinks hot for up to 12 hours or cold for up to 24 hours.

The bottle is USB-C rechargeable with a claimed battery life of 10 days with regular use (2-3 cycles per day) and up to 30 days on standby. George Hill is testing this one, so check back soon for his full review.

If you’re after a helmet for urban riding, the Halfords Commuter helmet claims to offer the “perfect blend of safety, style, and comfort”. Priced at £30, it features an adjustable fit system and an integrated rear light to help boost visibility.

Halfords says that it features a lightweight yet durable in-mould construction, and our size medium test helmet weighed 285g on our scales. It’s available in just one colour and two sizes: medium (54–59cm) and large (58–62cm).
