Tried doing a Google Image Search. Couldn’t find that particular barrier, but it did lead me to this example from https://public-art.shu.ac.uk/sheffield/cam362im.html

I hardwired our home offices, I think in the long term it’s less hassle. I routed the cable along the outside of the house – I used CAT6 outdoor cable and some cable clips, then a long drill to go through the wall and a network socket on either end.

    I have a Cateye AMPP 800

I have a Cateye AMPP 800 (reviewed here) which I’m very happy with. You should be able to get that for less than £40. Previously I had a AMPP 500 which I didn’t think was quite bright enough for unlit country lanes. There’s also the AMPP 1100 which is not much more than the 800 and should be a bit brighter.

In the UK 250w is the maximum

In the UK 250w is the maximum power for an eBike, anything more than that would be classed as a motorcycle or moped. You might have got mixed up between motor power (W) and battery capacity (Wh)?

If you’ve never ridden an eBike your best bet would be to go to a shop and try a few different ones.

Can you fit a pannier rack to the other bike?

If it doesn’t have eyelets then an Ortlieb Quick Rack or similar is a good solution.

    Nextdoor and Gumtree are good

Nextdoor and Gumtree are good for low-ish value stuff that needs to be collected in person. Watch out for scammers though.

    Before I had a Garmin, I used

Before I had a Garmin, I used to record all my runs (time and distance) in a notebook, then in a spreadsheet and eventually with a Garmin. I was mostly concerend about not getting injured – “too much, too fast, too soon” is a very common cause of injury for runners.

I also found it useful for working out when to replace my trainers, making sure I ran my slow runs slowly and pacing myself during races. The HR data was sometimes useful for longer races (10K, Half Marathon), but less so for shorter ones.

Now that I’ve stopped trying to set PB’s (my last attempt to run a sub-40 10K was 6 years ago) I pay a lot less attention to my Garmin. I know I’m gradually getting slower and slower, and I don’t need to be reminded of that. Quite often I don’t look at the data once it’s uploaded, I find the end of year stats interesting though.

For cycling, I like to know how far I’ve gone, but I’m not that bothered about anything else. I’ve never raced, except for a couple of low-key Duathlons, so I don’t feel that I need to anaylse anything very much. I had a cadence sensor at one point, just out of curiosity, but I prefer to go by what feels right.

    The laws for traffic signs

The laws for traffic signs and road markings are here.

The relevant bit for a Give Way line is:

no vehicle shall proceed past such one of those lines as is nearer the major road into that road in a manner or at a time likely to endanger the driver of or any passenger in a vehicle on the major road or to cause the driver of such a vehicle to change its speed or course in order to avoid an accident.

    I use a Motorcycle DashCam.

I use a Motorcycle DashCam. Mine is a Blueskysea DV128, I don’t think they make it any more but you can get similar ones (dual lens 1080p) for about £100. You’d need a USB power bank and an SD card, and a top bar bag or similar to put the head unit in. You’d also need to bodge some mounts for it, although that’s not too difficult.

Previously I had 2 cheap action cams, but that’s twice as much faff. With the DashCam it’s only 1 thing to charge and 1 SD card, and the front and rear video are always in sync.

    You do get traffic lights

You do get traffic lights where the left turn is Give Way instead of being controlled by the lights.

Not sure from your picture if that’s what’s intended. Looks more like someone painted the wrong markings on the road.

It’s an unwelcome distraction from things that would actually make cycling safer.

I do wear a helmet when I cycle, but it’s mostly “theater”.
