    What about Mini Scooters

What about Mini Scooters though! Fantastic article on the daily heil – ‘Scourge of the Streets’ – the whole thing could have literally been written by the Daily Mash

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2683876/How-mini-scooters-scourge-streets-Theyre-middle-class-children-little-terrors-reaching-speeds-25mph-ending-tears-petrified-pedestrians.html

Ref: your nattering buggy mummies, I don’t think there’s anything to be done, just get a bell, be polite, keep calm and carry on.

Well the further info on that

Well the further info on that Metro link would indeed infer little doubt that she’s defo a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

I do hope however, and I might have missed it, that this woman should not be allowed to drive a car again, regardless of how much better she’s feeling.

My car gets 100km on 5 litres of fuel. 6.7 litres with kayak on roof. Cycling kit during last 3 years.. 2 broken bikes. New brakes, loads of tyres, spare cassettes, spare chain wheel combo, new pedals, 3 second hand bikes.. Derailer, hub gear, fixie. An axle bearing. Illumination equipment 🙂 , wall hangers.. Overall.. A lot less than the fuel cost to have driven where was ridden. All up.. Not that much.. Maybe $1500 yet spares (including tyres and lubes) should see me without expenditure a year or 3 now that setup has started. Big hits were bikes.. $200, $120, $600. Upgrading $200 cost about $400. Tyres? $80 per four wide ones, $30*2 wide front and a couple of rounds of 28s at $50 a set. Lube $10?*4. Most not used.. Ditto with tyres. It’s way cheaper and it’s usually fun compared to driving. Motorists are usually nice. Drunks got me 1 night.. 0300 hours. On shallow down grade having opened her up down a 3km 7% grade. I was standing on pedals, stretching, dude slapped my arse but I was laughing; friggin idiots past quickly hence to fast per his reaction.. He also hit the handlebar.. I was ok, wobble and stabilize yet I wonder if he hurt his hand.. (Pretty impressed that my buttocks was slapped) Edit: gear racks, mud flaps, lots of spare tubes that don’t get used. Panniers. +$200 Gift of panniers (unused new ones that I’ll probably pack 1 day) Way less cost than fuel.. Service cost of automobile down too. One of my better choices

…and just like that, Boatsie is back.

    Welcome back!

    I’m voting for cable stretch

I’m voting for cable stretch here, sounds perfectly normal, back to where you got it, most shops offer some sort of ‘come back in six weeks for a free tune up’, it’s precisely for this kind of thing.

    From Wikipedia:

    From Wikipedia:

The red squirrel or Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is a species of tree squirrel in the genus Sciurus common throughout Eurasia. The red squirrel is an arboreal, omnivorous rodent.

Which frankly I feel is a bit rude.

There’s some further more useful information on population etc.. I started reading but was distracted by the pictures (in the Alps there are Black Squirrels!). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_squirrel

I think that if a group of

I think that if a group of cyclists uses the infrastructure put on by the company who puts on this event then it’s wrong.

Using the feedstops and throwing your hands in the air over the finish is not cool.

However if a group of riders just rides the route, missing out the start and finish and is self-sufficient (e.g. doesn’t use the feed stops), then it’s fair game to do so.

I do think that the clubs aren’t representing themselves well by ‘poaching’ the ride in club kit and would question why they thought it would be okay to wear club kit whilst doing so.

FYI I did the ride a few years ago for charity, while it’s a nice enough route the car traffic takes away a lot of the fun aspect. Ditchling was the one high point of the ride (literally) the rest… meh. I remember thinking at the time that some of the cyclists I saw were not capable of riding this route in traffic and that it really wasn’t safe for them or those around them.

I also know that the route is a ‘regular route/ride’ for a lot of local riders, in so much that it’s the organisers who are actually treading on the toes of many local cyclists for their charity ride, maybe the organisers would be better off getting the support of those named local clubs as opposed to just turning up a couple of times a year to clog the roads up and frustrate motorists.

    I’m with you sith64.

    I’m with you sith64.

I’m also close to pulling the trigger on either the 46mm or the 56mm LightBicycle rims/wheels (probably the 46mm ones as I think 30mm wide might be a fraction too wide for my calipers/frame clearance).

I’m looking at the 46’s not the 45mm ones you have linked to as it’s now suggested that a bit V shape is better than the U shaped profile for aerodynamics.

    https://www.lightbicycle.com/700C-V-shape-46mm-depth-hand-built-carbon-road-disc-wheels—28mm-wide-and-tubeless-compatible.html

I would suggest that it’s an ideal time to swap to tubeless also.

I did it a few years ago..

I did it a few years ago.. food stops were welcomed a bit too much by me and my lot.. we ended up eating far too much brie and baguette at one I remember…

Hydration tablets are something I should have taken with me, water is plentiful, you might even want to stop at a mountain stream and fill up, do take some hydration tabs with you, it’s a very long, sweaty day out.

Yes you can cycle down Alpe d’Huez after you finish.

Saw some right sights on that ride.. one bloke had a whole top tube full of gels. It’s a big day out for sure, but it doesn’t mean common sense should go out the window.  (That wasn’t you was it CXR94Di2 was it with your gastric issues?) I don’t think I used all the gels I took, better to eat real food.

I just think that your 20

I just think that your 20 post contribution on this site is not actually doing you or anyone reading the site any good, but hey, it’s’up to you boss, you carry on shouting into the clouds.

But wouldn’t it feel better to just get out there and ride your bike as opposed to talking about coco island domain names and making up stats.
