    Thanks for the contribution

    Thanks for the contribution redrobot.

I disagree with you, for me, it’s the one place I can find a whole raft full of cycling related topics I can enjoy and digest. Including the comments and forum posts. It’s not perfect but where is?

I visit and read ‘all the websitez’ related to cycling and most of them have something to offer, but I often think about this, and road.cc is the one site which delivers an amount of content which keeps me most interested and the one I most come back to.

It’s a free to enter and read website.  If not adverts, what’s the alternative?

I’m sure Dave and Tony would be pleased to hear your take on this. In fact over the years they’ve brought this topic up multiple times.

    Emma Pooley has a nice

Emma Pooley has a nice relaxed presenting style, I liked her on GCN,  however she’d need a booster seat to sit on a couch with life sized people.

    Size’ist much!

I’m all for more women ‘experts’ on the panel, that’s probably what looks a bit odd about the coverage in my eyes.. Orla is a sports presenter and has made a living out of cycling sport for a while. There must be a raft of non-male experts out there.

‘Boring Brian’ brings the couch cool level down a peg or two.

Saying all that, the coverage is better this year than previous years, I also like Wiggo’s insights on the couch, they are less saccharine than the usual comments, I like his ‘Astana Bloke’ comments.

Style wise however, Wiggo’s going down the rankings, his jumpers, whatever ‘brand’ it is he’s wearing don’t seem very interesting.. it’s a normal jumper (black or grey) with a large patch sewn on the chest accompanied by black jeggins.. every day..

I think ‘Sky Orla’ is in it

I think ‘Sky Orla’ is in it for the long haul.. they need the diversity to be fair.. otherwise it’s just white blokes talking about the good old days and how in their day things were harder.

I’d like to see more Rochelle Gilmore, now she’s stepped back from wiggle high 5.

    There’s probably a chart

There’s probably a chart somewhere.. but ‘not really’ is the answer.. some 28mm tyres are larger than others..  I’d ‘estimate’ that you’d be looking at a 31mm width with 19mm inner width.

    Been through two Garmin ones

Been through two Garmin ones (or three thinking about it).. brought a Wahoo one the other month. It seems slightly better than the garmin one, comfier and easier to get on and off, plus it has little flashing lights on the front which make me feel a bit like a robot..

There’s not much difference and not worth overthinking.

I get a bit embarrassed by my passive aggressive hub noise,  in a paceline, if I freewheel, it shouts ‘HURRY UP SLOWCOACH’ to those in front.. which just means I pedal more and rest less (which is not what I think and not helpful)..

On the other hand I ‘appreciate it’ when used instead of a ‘bell’..  it sure does alert people to me coming.

Yep, not worth it soz.  FYI I sold an old 1984 PX10 Peugeot complete for £80 the other month. Sold because it was ever so slightly out of alignment (but perfectly rideable) and was annoying me by taking up space.

I’m not a fan of loud hubs..

I’m not a fan of loud hubs.. my Hunt wheels have very loud hubs and everytime I freewheel it’s like I’m being passive aggressive to the person in front.. sort of like a buzzy ‘hurry up’..

They are useful for pedestrians however and I fine negate the requirement for a bell.

Wow that’s a bloody scary video!!

Mixed feelings for this, yes I’m pleased someone somewhere is being punished for that horror, but I’m not sure it’s in the ‘public interest’ to lock up and 85 year old (maybe it is?) however the ban is welcome as long as that 87/88 year old has to ‘take a driving test’ to get their license re-instated.

It’s a sad to read this, sympathies to you.

You can’t ride that frame that’ll not do it or you justice. However, you could buy another frame from ebay, put this one on the wall and honour your loved one by seeing if you can find what ‘it’ was that they loved about riding their bike.

    Best wishes whatever you do.

Yes, I did one of those ID Match things at a local bike shop.

They determined I was an S3 fitted me to a S3 saddle, I’ve since had two S3’s and it/they were probably my most comfortable saddle.

It’s not all about sit bone width, it’s also about how flexible your lower back/hips are too.
