Caused by too much weight on
Caused by too much weight on your arms. You can change your set up to fix.

Simple ‘core’ excersises is the key to this I believe. Strengthen your core so not all the weight is on your arms (e.g. some is taken by your ‘core’)
Test whether you can sit in your ‘drops position’ and then take both hands off the bars… does your core support you?

I get it also on long decents, but that’s probably more becuae I’m not used to them.

I’ve taken advantage of the road.cc cap discount and I’m quietly looking forward to my first outing with it, thank you road.cc 🙂

As a fellow who’s time poor
As a fellow who’s time poor and also quite unorganised, I need my better half to tell me what I can and can’t do, when. I’m sure (excluding wippersnappers), I’m not the only one.

I’d like a calendar of schedule of ride-outs around the country at ‘special’ places.
e.g. Cheddar Gorge (I know I know), The Tumble, Buttertubs… etc etc… places with a bit of special about them.. these are all places I’d like to ride that I’d book a weekend for, that aren’t at the ends of the earth to get to.
You could pitch them as ‘road.cc curated rides’ and ask locals to send you the routes to choose from.
You could add a bit of value by organising a discount at local camp/ glamp /caravan / cheap country hotels sites for us to congregate and meet at. (I’ve just organised a golf day at Hellingdon Lakes and the golf club hotel did a deal for £65 a night – good rolling countryside & roads round them parts.)

I’d see real value in an event (ideally a ride out) where at the end participants could get hold of some kit seconds, samples, sale items from clothes manufacturers, better if they’re British brands such as Rapha, Morvelo, Howies, Primal, Endura.

As much as I’d come to a ‘film night’ if I were local to Bath, I’m not and it seems a bit of a faff to sit in a room for a couple of hours for.

Regular members only team Q&A sessions where you can ask us your tech questions or where we can discuss other cycling related topics in live forum discussions – This could be interesting, but as we’re all internet based, doh! again it seems a bit of a faff for something that ‘probably’ just as easily found out on t’internet.

road.cc shirt relay (where we send a shirt out and you members take it all around the UK) – seems a nice idea to keep it moving around parts of the country, could makes an excuse to meet up with the next person.. or what about a geo-cache style game with it?

A road.cc cap could be a good addition to most stylish cyclists wardrobes, could be like a mason’s handshake to a fellow club member.

Maybe do an annual long distance event such as London to Paris or Bristol to Bruge (I made the last one up) in conjunction with an existing event organiser you get some places for a ‘team’ in exchange for a publicity contra and editorial deal?

I’d like to see a local club ride feature on the site, a bit like the Cycling Weekly ones they do.

Crud Roadracers are a pain in the arse (excuse pun). I have a pair a lot of other people I know and everyone agrees they are a pain.

Pain to get on, pain to set up, pain to keep in position, annoying constant ‘rub’, flimsy, marked my seatstays..

Amazing on paper, lightest, racy’est guards, awful in practice on my TCR.

Yep, had similar questions in my head recently about baselayers… however for me last night proved that a ‘string vest’ base should be worn in hot weather, seems to get the sweat off and away quicker.

I am not however daring to try anything other than a string vest and would welcome experience on lightweight merino base layers in this weather…

No problems with Schwalbes over here and I have a set of Sl23 rims notorious for being a bar steward to fit.
Another bit of advise keep away from VeloFlexes if the rims are that way inclined, I had sore thumbs for a week after loosing a wrestling match trying to fir a pair of these (against others advice).

    Kudos indeed Mr iUpham !
There aren’t many events about that tough, I recently completed the UBER200, which was 132miles and 9000+ feet of climbs through the rolling Warwickshire / Gloucestershire countryside (although I must have pressed the wrong button at 120miles and missed the relativity flat roll in).

I was however most struck with the fantastic route planned for us, although I’m a ‘local’ to that ride, I’d not been on half of the lanes/roads, surfaces were good all round (that I remember). The organiser did a truly great job in comparison to other organised rides I’ve done (notably Malvern Hatter last year had miles of AWFUL road surfaces!)

It was the ‘1st’ UBER200 and frankly I couldn’t walk upstairs for two days following…

It’s a shame I’ve not seen anything about it in the ‘press’, but I guess being on the same weekend as the Fred didn’t help.
Still I can say I’ve been there, done that and now have the t-shirt 😉

    Dear Mr Six Question Marks,

I think you’ll find you need to ‘claim’ your free stuff, see the ‘sticky’ posts at the top of this forum.
As for when, well that’ll be once the worker bees stop looking at p0rn on laptops and get their ‘arris down tut Post Office..
And as for what else you get for your fifteen squids, you’ll be getting a membership card which entitles you to discount on coffee and bike parts all over the UK alongside a big hug from Dave if you ever attend one of their rides!
You can also register yourself affiliated to road.cc o the official BC website if you did so wish.

Well, throwing my hat in the ring for ‘Leamington Spa’ – unsure if there are many road.cc club members from here as yet.. but it is:
Central and easy to get to by road or rail
Has a thriving club scene (must be eight clubs within ten miles)
Plus I can rustle up some decent hilly rides out round the Warwickshire and the Cotswolds, to include climbs short and sharp such as Edge Hill, or long and grueling such as Fish Hill.
…and I know people who make cake.

    (…that’s all I’ve got)
