I occasionally use spinning classes for intervals, but the 400 watts it says I can output sounds a bit high for me, I think you either need to go off perceived effort or just use the HRM and say a sufferfest DVD.

    Good luck with your wrists.

The Nats womens race was good
The Nats womens race was good viewing, even though I knew the result beforehand.

Unless Road.cc can get someone in situ to provide a daily write-up, I imagine it’s difficult to source adequate material to provide effective coverage. To be fair, it’s not just cycling either, most other sports have a huge gender gap in terms of media coverage and, consequently, pay levels, which must be hugely galling for the athletes. Ironically, I think women’s track cycling suffers less (at least in terms of UK TV coverage) – not sure how much of that is down to easy-on-the-eye breakthrough figures such as Vicky P.

I agree though, it would be good to see more coverage.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong I’m glad Cav’s riding, he’s great value, I was just saying that if their only priority was Yellow in Paris, then he wouldn’t be. Hopefully they can still pull it off, with Overall for Brad and more stage wins for Cav in the rainbow jersey. I still make Brad the favourite, but he’ll need big performances from Froome, Porte and Rogers. If he has a bad day in the mountains and they’re not there, he’s buggered.

Oh I know what you’re saying, and in some ways I agree, but i suppose what im saying is, that harks back to the bigger question of whether he should have moved to Sky, because this scenario was an obvious one. Had they chosen to omit the reigning world champion and green jersey holder in favour of another domestique, I think the team and brailsford would have been pariahs within the sport.

Hmm, I tend to agree with Boardman – if they were picking a team for weeks 2 and 3 then Cav and Eisel shouldn’t have been in it.

I don’t think they could not pick Cav – it would be disrespectful to the rainbow and green jerseys. Besides, Cav would have made sure that was an agreed point before signing for Sky. Eisel a strong guy and an experienced road captain, which gives them options.

I don’t see a problem for Sky yet – bit of a close call yesterday being behind the crash, and only avoided losing time because of the ‘last 3km’ rule.

    Come on Wiggo.

Ok, clearly this is way too
Ok, clearly this is way too subjective for everyone to agree, so how about the Shimano bike is all about the up-to-the-minute tech, and the Campag a bit more about the beauty and craftmanship?

So the Campag has a Condor Super Acciaio frame. Super Record, natch. EPS or mechanical?

    Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 and C24’s on – what? Trek Madone 6.9?

Since we’re fantasising, is now a good time to add a holographic projector to the underside of the saddle that will create the illusion of a following Police car to slow down any idiot drivers?!

Lol at Marcel Kittel’s twitter feed, he’s even posted a pic of a suppository prescribed by the doc!

Pics like that make me think they are tempting fate for a body’s worth of road rash.

I have wondered how much of the coloured stuff is pre-prepared – it would feel presumptuous to be carrying e.g. a yellow bike and yellow shorts in the trailer.
