To clarify, I was doing ok
To clarify, I was doing ok fitness-wise until I had that break. Dunno how long it might take me to get back to where I was.

Just riding a generic far-east carbon thing with SRAM Apex and heavy wheels.

I’m a feelancer, and I asked my accountant about paying a little more tax. She said “sure, by all means, but it’s more complex, and when the revenue come in to inspect me, they expect all contractors to be on the ‘standard’ (for her) model, and, although she didn’t put it like this, exploit the same loopholes.

That said, while my employee contributions might be low, I make it up in other forms of tax through my company.

I just think crap headlines like this are the result of a slow news day – “quick, log on to companies house and find me a celeb who earns more than our readers but isn’t on PAYE.”

Well at least that’s settled. Thanks for posting. Wonder what the racing strategy will be? Would be great to see an HTC-style leadout train again.

Steak… if that was deliberate I like your sense of humour. [Bertie, you hungry?!]

    I think it’s probably more
I think it’s probably more accurate to say that you ‘had to be doping in order to ride on Lance’s team’. So as Neil says, if you’re not in on the big stage races or supporting LA, then you might well not see the same pressure. Heck, you probably wouldn’t even work with the same DSs or soigneurs.

I don’t know how the team organisation worked at Motorpostalchannelshack, but most teams are virtual – the riders only meet up for races. The rest of the time they are flung to the proverbial four corners. This is part of the culture that David Millar has hit out at, because it’s not very supportive to the riders. I have heard of some pro’s only meeting the top riders in their team once or twice a year, maybe at camp or a big end-of-season get-together. In this scenario, it’s easy to imagine Lance’s ‘crew’ being brought together for specific training etc, and someone like a Classics rider just not really being part of that circle.

“He did not go home when he heard the news. He was already wearing the T-shirt. He accepts that he is guilty by reason of his plea.”

From the Mcr Evening News. As I say stumps, I’m not excusing this guy for one second, I realize you guys have a tough job to do, but being a complete c*nt just isn’t as serious as killing someone. I’m not trying to be off-topic- perhaps I should have chosen something else as an example of what I think is inconsistent sentencing.

Meanwhile, the guy who wore a
Meanwhile, the guy who wore a t-shirt with an anti-Police message gets sent down for four months. Don’t get me wrong, the fact that he was wearing it on the day 2 GMP were killed is shitty, but he said (and the judge accepted) that his grievance was unrelated and he had already left the house wearing it when the incident took place, so it wasn’t even with aggregating factors. Clearly inconsistent.

    B&Q do these:

Think they were £15 each or something. I have it drilled straight into the wall, you could just buy several and arrange as necessary.

Millskid, I think that’s all anyone starts out with, but it’s only short step to naming the group, registering on British Cycling and buying a job lot of kit with your name on.
