I think its the “tried Zipp
I think its the “tried Zipp tubs, they’re making a strange noise, so I thought I’d try the clinchers”…..how would that get rid of the problem, other than being wheels from the same manufacturer and the same sort of potential for strange noises?Seems a mish mash of random thoughts when really the OP just wants an excuse to buy some expensive wheels.

Yeah, I thought a BC race
Yeah, I thought a BC race licence was essentially under the UCI umbrella?Bizarrely, Megavalanche accept either a medical cert or a BC race licence in lieu of the medical cert. Cos those BC race doctors have reviewed my health recently 8| Etape du Tour would not accept the BC licence and needed a medical cert.

My GP did me a medical and signed a cert to say I was fit for taking part in the Etape du Tour.It was basic – blood pressure, pulse, weight, height, listened to heart, max air flow etc.
Had to pay about £15. I think would have been more if I’d asked for ECG and blood tests etc.

Distance selling means you
Distance selling means you get the same chance to look at the goods as you would in a shop.It doesn’t mean you can go out and USE the product and then when its not suitable for you personally, you think you can return it.
I would be well chuffed to be offered 75% value on a used product.

The shorts have been USED so
The shorts have been USED so its totally reasonable they won’t accept them as a return. The fact it was “only” one ride, is neither here nor there. It tough luck. Put them on ebay and don’t buy Castelli again. Some manufacturer’s will give unconditional returns because they’re that confident in their product but at a supplier level I don’t think its often the case.
I doubt you’d find a retailer who would accept a return on used goods unless they were demonstrably faulty (or had a supplier scheme). They just don’t fit you, and that’s tough luck unfortunately.

The Triban 500 SE has a carbon fork which will improve the ride quality (comfort) and be lighter but apart from that I’m not sure what other upgrades it has over the Triban 300.You could probably get a carbon fork from ebay for less than the £80 difference.

Quinophex – I think the 305
Quinophex – I think the 305 must be different, since I’ve never been able to see the files on my Mio 105 through Win Explorer. It always relied on the proprietary software to upload.I’ve just bought a Garmin from a friend, so the Mio will be consigned to the spares bin, or maybe ebay if someone wants to take a chance on it…

About 10 years ago I went through a period of eating porridge for lunch cos I got bored of making sandwiches etc, and it was cheap. It wasn’t intentional but it was just calorie deficit, but 6miles commuting each way most days was enough to lose a stone easily.mtbtomo
Why not try them first? They
Why not try them first? They might be good enough. If you’re not riding them back to back with something better, you might not even notice they’re not quite as good as Shimano etc.I’d probably spend the money on a saddle that I like, shorter/longer stem to suit, carbon seatpost (if not already) etc etc.
Once you’ve worn out the first set of pads then upgrade to new calipers or just the pads.

CycloAgent uninstalled and still no joy.Same message whether I have the device conntected before I start the Magellan software or whether I connect it after I start the software.

Just got the desktop tool, but it doesn’t recognise my device. It says “Failed to detect the device. Check COM port setting for the device”The device however says “Connected to PC”…..
I’ve still got Cycloagent installed. Maybe I need to remove this?

I’m 5ft 10 and normally ride 56’s – my three road bikes range between 560 – 570 top tube.If you’re over 6ft, I’d say 58 should be fine surely?
And I also use 44cm bars. Not at all a bit wide.
(But then I have had 20 years previously on a mountain bike!)

Ellmo – I could have written
Ellmo – I could have written that post myself, word for word! I had exactly the same faff as you, needing to connect my Mio105 twice to get it to upload the ride and be able to get to the GPX file. Then the other day I logged on and they’d changed the interface and I needed to use “Cycloagent”. I can’t connect it at all now, it says all ride data has been synced but I can’t see them in my history on Mioshare.
It’s a shambles. I’ve emailed Mio help desk and they just said they were aware of the issue and looking for a fix.
At the moment my Mio is nothing more than a posh bike computer. I’m on the verge of buying a Garmin cos the Mio is useless.

As per the other posts, make
As per the other posts, make sure your saddle is the right height and position (fore/aft). If it is, and you can keep up with your riding partners and can go the distance then I wouldn’t worry too much. Some of the pros pedal at seemingly unnatural high cadences – doesn’t mean we all have to though!
I like pushing a higher gear than I probably should, but as my body manages ok with the stress and I’m fine keeping up and going the distance, I’m not too bothered about what my actual cadence is.
I only have a cadence sensor on the bike on the turbo. Out on the road there’s other stuff to worry about first! 🙂
