This sounds like the US case.

This sounds like the US case. The guy persisted and he did get a replacement frame, eventually:

I’ve seen a similar case on

I’ve seen a similar case on another forum with the previous model Infinito in the US.. the dealer argued that it was caused by a stick picked up and flung into the spokes – it can happen. They did replace the frame eventually though.

Let us know how you get on?

Bought this classy frame (bike) at York Rally this month, forget the specialized sticker on the headtube but the downtube name seems original, anyone out there throw any light on it. The frame is in excellent condition, so much so no refurbishment required.

Nervex made lugs in the 70s. They were highly prized at the time:

Merlin Cordite – its really a Hi-Mod Ridley. You wont find a better, sensible bottom bracket bike for the money https://www.merlincycles.com/merlin-cordite-ultegra-road-bike-84146.html

That’s not true, just look at the two next to each other. Similar sure, but a host of differences if you look closely. Merlin denies it too.

    If you’re looking to build

If you’re looking to build the bike up yourself, look for a NOS Colnago on Ebay. My 2009 EPS frame was £1100 and has a lovely BSA threaded BB. Brilliant bike BTW.

    Yep Zondas/Fulcrum R3 seem to

Yep Zondas/Fulcrum R3 seem to me about the sweet spot for performance/value. And they have the Record hub, the best hub ever made some say.

I find that gloves with leather palms are essential in the wet – they’re ever so slightly absorbant, so stick better to the bars/hoods. Same for bare skin.

Completely normal for unidirectional carbon. Same on my Canyon AL carbon forks, and every other carbon bike that isn’t covered by paint or a decorative layer of carbon weave.

    1. See if they’ll let you

    1. See if they’ll let you take a test ride. That way you’ll know if you like one better than the others.

    2. Buy the one you want. You’ll enjoy riding it more.

    The other factor is modern

The other factor is modern deep rim low spoke count wheels. They are stiff and efficient but very uncomfortable on rough roads.

Back in the day on the pavé the pros used to go for a low profile rim and 32-26 spoke wheels because the rims were more flexible and gave a softer ride. It’s something worth thinking about, any wheelbuilder can make them and they’re not even expensive.

This written after getting a bit sick of bashing over bloody speed bumps (CS1) on my commute on my Canyon Ultimate AL with Zondas, which is normally a beautifully smooth ride thanks to the carbon/basalt seatpost and carbon forks, but now feels to harsh.

    I haven’t seen anything like

I haven’t seen anything like group cycling in Singapore in many visits but there is at least one cycle club, http://joyriders.sg/

I’ve noticed a long cycle track out around Changi airport /Changi beach that’s very popular. Most of the main roads I’ve seen are motorway-style so didn’t look very nice for cycling and don’t appear to have parallel tracks. Good luck and please report back!
