I’ve booked to stay overnight in Southwold, and then riding back with the OH stopping off in a few pubs on the way. Can’t wait. Should be a real adventure, with fewer participants and fewer pop-ups open.

Tighten both quick release
Tighten both quick release skewers. Also, can be pedals, if they’re worn the bearings can precess, which makes a sound.

Reading this has made me rethink my tool packing.
I used to have two tubes and house keys in the left pocket; a soft zip up first aid kit with a mini tool, CO2 inflator, tyre lever, chain links, puncture kit, latex glove (for chain repairs), sterile wipes and a few plasters, and an M4 and M5 bolt, in the middle pocket; and then phone, cards and energy bars in the right pocket.
I’ve now packed up a Lifeline tool bottle that I had kicking around to hold two tubes, a mini tool, chain links, puncture kit, tyre lever, latex glove (for chain repairs), sterile wipes and a few plasters, an M4 and M5 bolt, and bunged that in one of the bottle cages, so I can keep much less in the rear pockets. Well, it’s a change, anyway, I’ll see how it goes. It’s nice not having so much in the back pockets, certainly.

Good, you can always add a longer stem if it feels a bit short, but a frame that’s too large is a problem.

I use vinegar to clean rims, it very slightly etches them, so it’s really effective.

I’ve tried both and they’re both absolutely excellent. But as Welsh boy says, most people will match the brand of their shifters, because of the difference in how they manage the quick release.
Campag afficionados may prefer the ‘D-Skeleton’ set from Campag, which has a dual pivot front and single pivot rear.
Why not stock both?

“Use discs” they said. “They’re so easy to maintain”, they said.
Never had this problem with rim brakes.

Looking forward to doing the Dunwich Dynamo, though at present there’s no return transport planned, so it might be the double with riding back!
That’s if a planned but I suspect unlikely to eventuate work event the Monday after doesn’t spoil the whole thing…

I’m seeing ‘m.stripe.network’ in the ‘loading’ message at bottom left. Sounds like a link skimmer or some such undesirable and unnecessary inconvenience.
Please road.cc, just revert to whatever you were doing last year, which worked fine. This website is broken in 2021.

A huge falling tree, years ago when I was riding in the Adelaide Hills in Oz, going downhill on the New Norton Summit Road where the Tour Down Under now sometimes passes. Came around a corner on my Raleigh Record 10 speed, and there was the tree falling down across the whole road and beyond, a massive thing, lots of big branches bouncing up and down, throwing up dust in the air. My friend and I were able to clamber over the huge trunks, and continue on our way. Bloody lucky I wasn’t a bit faster or I wouldn’t have been typing this now.

Well here we are a week later and its still rubbish. This is only happening with Road.cc. I’m a subscriber, I’m logged in and all ad blocking is turned off and the site whitelisted. Images spend ages with the ‘three blobs’ gif and then just disappear without loading.
