Hi All!
I am new to this forum and it’s my first post, so apologies if anything is wrong in my request for advice and help. I have a Pinarello Di2 Ultegra TICR Disc brake 2021 with standard Fulcrum racing 500 wheels. I’m looking to change them and buy some new carbon wheels that are lighter, better and faster.
I am 176cm for 80kg, average build, not too lightweight nor too heavy. I need disc brake wheels, currently I have the gp 5000 conti tyres 28mm, so I might keep those ones or change to tubeless (still unsure).
I am based in London, so mainly flat road, speed, some hills and climbs, and mixed surface.
I’ve found the Campy Bora Wto 45 and I’m really interested in those. The other option is Fulcrum speed 40 DB, or the better (and more expensive) model Fulcrum speed 40 DB Competizione (10g lighter but have the CULT bearings rather than the standard USB that both the Bora Wto 45 and fulcrum speed 40 have).
I have also seen the new roval rapide CLX, but I’m a bit worried that the profile is too deep (rim depth 50 front / 60 rear)… also this is clincher only (no tubeless), which for me wouldn’t be a problem, actually.
what wheels would you recommend? Does any of these stand out from the crowd clearly? Or do you have any other recommendations? Enve and lightweight are out of budget, I had considered DT Swiss, Mavic, Scope, and Shimano, but haven’t found anything too interesting / appealing…
Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice!
Luca
