    Imagine coming off the bike
Imagine coming off the bike with a spark plug in your back pocket – That could do you some damage.

You’re a muppet if you think it wise to attack a car even if the car is driven by a nob.

    According to this – Vaughters
According to this – Vaughters said their tests didn’t show anything ?

Is Brian Smith or JV wrong ?

More stuff – but still nothing seriously suspect –

    Has anyone actually reported
Has anyone actually reported the incident on twitter to the police – or have we all sat around assuming it’s already been done ?

From what I read she passed her test in October, had already been on a speed awareness course, was worrying about getting caught having run a red light, and hit a cyclist and driven off.

She’s behaved disgracefully in less than 6 months.

I’ve been driving for >30 years now and haven’t done any of those things.

    If you’re not going any
If you’re not going any distance – you can still ride with trainers and clip less pedals. If you’re going further use your bike shoes.

Or just use time atac and MTB shoes for everything.

Can’t see the issue here. He records stuff with strava. Isnt that the idea. I record my 3 mile runs – so i have a log of my mileage. If I ever swam – I’d do that too.

It’s not boasting – its just recording. Does he save the files as ‘Look at my greatness – i have cycled 6km !!’ ?

If he doesnt then I think the problem is with you really ?

Presumably you followed him ? Or did he force you to ?

What have Sky done to clean up cycling?

They won’t join the MPCC, with its tougher rules on certain steroids and TUEs, and consequences for doping.

Chris Froome openly abuses asthma steroids in races, and is defended for it.

Skys’ two Tour winners both showed incredible weight loss. Somehow, despite drastic weight loss resulting in being built like stick insects, they still both remained world-class time trialists and lost none of their power on the flats (indeed, maybe even gained).

Sky initially had a “no dodgy cycling doctors” policy, but then, despite having well qualified medical and performance staff, they went and hired Geert fucking Leinders for his cycling “expertise”. Leinders is known for having long been an insider, deep in the Belgian/Dutch cycling “performance” culture with Panasonic and then later head doctor at Rabobank. There are a number of accounts by former riders of an endemic doping culture at those teams, with doping programmes formulated and administered by Leinders.

Why did Sky, who did not lack for qualified medical staff free of cycling-doping baggage, have such a great need for a “traditional” cycling doctor? Brailsford says it was just naïvety.

Then there was Brailsfords initial claims they would be transparent and publish data, which he backtracked on. Why?

Now, I’d still be willing to believe Sky found a way to win back to back tours with 2 different riders clean. It’s /possible/, but you can’t deny there’s a hint of smoke. Whether that smoke comes from Sky, or has just drifted over from the general cloud hanging over pro-cycling is hard to tell. However, anyone who gets annoyed at suspicions of doping at Sky and vehemently denies it could be possible is just way off in Cloud Fanboy land.

It’s amazing what nationalism will blind people to.

Join MPCC – the ‘club’ that Astana are part of ? Why the hell would you join that club – they’d get slated for alignin with teams with massive doping problems.

The rest of your issues are just theories.

If Sky were doping – then where are all the positive tests ? Remember Disco and the slew of positives from ex riders still doping and getting busted ?
Presumably Brailsford had similar programs for the GB Track team ? Where are their positive tests ? Where are the exposes ? Where are the confessions ?

Doping on that kind of scale would leak out. There would be slip ups. There would be people wanting to talk. What about JTL ? He must feel hard done to – he could sell a drugs story for thousands – if there was one.

Can you do flat out intervals
Can you do flat out intervals on rollers though ? I’m pretty sure I couldn’t.

I’m close to falling off a turbo at those intensities – let alone being able to balance and keep my eyes open.

Ffs – stories from the Daily
Ffs – stories from the Daily Mail indeed.

Like they wouldn’t want to do down News International.

Anyone who knows anything about cycling knows that the 90s were a dark time for the sport. All riders were guilty by association but not all guilty with actual proof. Knaven is only guilty of being a rider from that period

How long is a football match?
How long is a football match? A good bike ride would be three or four times as long and as has been said – it’s a lot cooler at speed.

No shorts for me today. Torrential rain. Still it’s good to get some miles out of the rain kit.

I’ve been riding for 30 years + now and I can’t recall having broken a mech or cable in all of that time. Chains yes. Seatposts yes. Wheels yes.

I’m not going to replace a system that works perfectly well with one that is slightly less reliable and more expensive. Even if the pros are using it.
