A major road in Swindon is partially blocked after a car flipped onto its roof.

Emergency services raced to a road traffic collision in Oxford Road, near White Hart Roundabout, at around 5.45pm today (Wednesday).

A black car has overturned, coming to rest on its roof. The occupants are out of the vehicle and police are providing first aid.

Gosh, who knew? Thank-you for confirming that Physics is a thing.

Yet it needs to be said, put in a chart and posted and re-posted. Drivers prefer to deny the daily  road deaths and serious injuries, made worse still by vehicle weight, air pollution and all the rest.

    The 6 is an S in PNP-speak, I think.

The N14 effort is now barely worth the plastic it is printed on.

“Ah but look over there” is standard distraction stuff.

If you were a gas-head, what number plate would you choose to advertise the fact?

Well they, Jackie and John Cooke, were offered by the DVLA for no extra charge the numberplate JJ64GAS which seems a better and more personalised plate than the one they had originally to me.

well that sounds like a clincher to me. Other acceptable evidence would be that the Cookes are long standing season ticket holders.

I was put in mind of the Corfe Castle Enid Blyton shop from a few years ago and found that she’s still out there on the inter web with her “I’m not a racist, but here’s my rules on who is OK and who isn’t” schtick.

Couple told their ‘offensive’ number plate was banned now have it on display in garden

Jackie and John Cooke bought the registration number ‘N14GAS’ in 1997 to show off their support for football team Bristol Rovers, but the DVLA has now banned it

I might buy the Bristol Rovers fans thing if they, or just their lounge wall, were pictured covered in their other Bristol Rovers merchandise – scarves, photos, a shirt.

Pretty UK market town’s high street ‘deserted’ after series of shop closures

There are fears within the town

Sorry guys, nick-nack gifty coffee shop owners, but cars aren’t your town’s future.

Further to the Paris discussion, the centre of Devizes is as over-run by cars as anywhere in the UK. The picturesque market square, High Street, historic Long Street, its nearby green all spoilt.

Not too far away is car-lite NT owned film location, historic Lacock (although looking a bit scruffy last time I was there) with Lacock Abbey.  People flock there to walk around the village and to see where characters played by Judi Dench or Alan Bates might have lived out their dramas.

I really don’t buy the “we’re doomed – Northgste St is closed” line from the traders.  I get that people can be a bit fickle when they have choices and are uncommitted to any one of them, but if you’re serious about doing some shopping and spending some money, one easily surmounted road closure isn’t going to deter you.  A pleasant environment to saunter around might just pull you in.

Down my way, a 200 yard bus gate or 20 mph limit extinguishes all economic and domestic life, so I assume Paris centre-ville has been rendered a wasteland by this change?

+1 on saddle height and also

+1 on saddle height and also check your lateral alignment – everything should be straight and aligned.  My bike fit years ago moved my feet to the outermost (so cleats innermost).  On one bike with a Q factor of 0 I’ve installed those pedal extenders.

You don’t say how much riding you’re doing and how long the pain takes to set in – it’s not one of those “well, twice last night and again this morning” situations, I assume?
