Winter is on its way here in the UK, so for this edition of Five Cool Things we’ve rounded up a mix of cycling kit to keep you warm, dry, and riding through the colder months. Here are the previews with the full reviews landing on the site soon.
Endura Men’s Xtract Roubaix LS Jersey (£74.99)

The Xtract Roubaix long sleeve jersey from Endura is designed for colder rides, with the brand claiming the fabric “locks in heat without turning you into a sweaty mess.”
It features an athletic, close-fitting cut to prevent excess material from flapping, and offers plenty of storage with three rear pockets, a zipped security pocket, and a hidden chest pocket.
Jack Evans is currently testing this, so check back soon for his full verdict.
Velocio Men Luxe Thermal Bib Tight (£203)

If you’re looking for extra storage on the bike, the Velocio Men’s Luxe Thermal Bib Tight combines a fleece lining, DWR treatment to repel light rain and road spray, and two cargo pockets – one on each thigh.
They feature the same chamois as the Velocio Men’s Luxe Bib Short, which Josh Price rated 9/10, calling it “exceptionally comfortable”.
Hollis Jones is testing the black version, though the bib tights are also available in Black Olive and Nightshade.
Boardman Cycle Overshoes (£20)

Boardman cycling clothing has often impressed with its balance of quality and value, and these £20 overshoes aim to continue that trend, designed for all-weather performance.
They are made from water-resistant fabric with taped seams and neoprene panels for a snug fit. There are also added reflective logos and a zip to enhance visibility.
The overshoes are available in sizes M, L, and XL, covering a wide range from UK 6 to 13.5.
Gorewear Progress Thermo Jersey Womens (£79.99)

Designed to work as either a mid-layer or an outer layer, the Gorewear Progress Thermo Jersey Women’s is pitched as a versatile, close-fitting option for cooler rides.
It features a cycling-specific cut with a dropped tail for coverage and a high collar to help keep the chill out. Storage is taken care of with three rear pockets plus a zipped security pocket for valuables.
I’m currently putting this jersey through its paces, so check back soon for my full verdict.
Galibier Echelon Short Sleeve Base Layer (£23)

The Galibier Echelon Short Sleeve Base Layer is said to be optimised for summer wear, but its AirMesh fabric is also described as offering year-round temperature regulation. In summer, it wicks away moisture for a cooling effect, while in winter it provides insulation, according to the brand.
On the back you’ll find the ‘Spirit of Tailwinds’ slogan, which Galibier reckons might give you an extra 20 watts of power. (We’ll let you decide whether that’s science or sorcery.) At the very least, it’ll wick away sweat to keep you feeling dry and comfortable or provide insulation.
