Garmin, Stages and Lezyne used the recent Eurobike show in Germany to unveil some brand new GPS computers, and we’ve got the full lowdown on all the key details in the video above. 

Garmin’s new Edge Explore is aimed at navigation compared to the performance focus of the Edge 1030 and is the successor to the previous Touring computer. It includes all the usual Garmin technology, a 3in colour touchscreen and smartphone notifications and Connect IQ apps, but it doesn’t do workouts and Strava Live Segments, you’ll want the 1030 to do those things. It’s compatible with Garmin’s Varia lights to provide incident detection, a key safety feature the company is keen to promote.

Lezyne has made a massive step forward with its range of GPS computers, with the new Mega XL and Mega C GPS looking much sleeker than the previously fugly computers and packing some impressive navigation and smartphone connectivity features. The huge claimed battery run times grabbed the headlines though, with a whopping 48 hours on the monochrome Mega XL and a still impressive 32 hours on the Mega C.

Stages have expanded its Dash computer range with two new models, adding navigation functionality to the new range-topping L50 model. As you can probably tell from the pics, it’s still a prototype with production models not expected for a little while yet. The L50 uses a large (400x240mm) colour screen that can be used portrait or landscape and battery life is claimed to be good for 18 hours.
