Police at Barcelona airport acted quickly to apprehend two thieves and return pro cyclist Magnus Cort his bike, that after it was stolen from an airport car park as the Danish rider travelled home from the Tour de France.
The Catalan police Mossos d’Esquadra shared the good news that Cort’s Uno-X Mobility team-issue Ridley Noah Fast had been recovered and returned to him, explaining it was “stolen from the parking lot at El Prat airport” on Monday.

Two thieves with 16 prior offences were arrested over the incident which saw a vehicle broken into and the bike taken. A grateful Cort was seen smiling for a photo with police and gifted one of his Tour de France race numbers as a small token of his gratitude.
“Today we returned this bicycle, valued at over 9,000 euros, to its owner after it was stolen from the parking lot at El Prat airport,” the force confirmed. “We arrested the two thieves who stole it by breaking into a vehicle. They have a total of 16 prior offences.
“The owner is the cyclist Magnus Cort who, as a token of gratitude, has given us the bib number with which he participated in the Tour de France.”

Cort was travelling home from the Tour when the incident happened. While the 32-year-old’s race was relatively quiet on a personal level, he was part of the Uno-X Mobility team which won its first ever stage at the race when Jonas Abrahamsen struck from the breakaway in Toulouse on stage 11.
Cort’s best individual result came on stage 15 in Carcassonne, but most of his attention went towards assisting teammate Tobias Halland Johannessen to an impressive sixth-place finish on GC.
Away from the racing, we also enjoyed Cort’s much-loved Instagram series rating the hotel rooms he stayed in during the three weeks.
