Gore Bike Wear updates Xenon road cycling range

Top-of-the-range clothing line updated for autumn/winter

Gore Bike Wear have updated their top-end road cycling Xenon clothing line for autumn and winter with updated jackets and tights and several new additions to bolster the range.

The Xenon range features the very best of Gore Bike Wear's fabric development and make use of the latest Gore-Tex technology to give the very best protection against the elements. Gore is one of the most dependable names in the clothing business and the Xenon garments are designed for the most demanding riders and conditions, the “performance-focused long-distance racing cyclists” to quote the Gore press release.

As well as updates to exiting products, they've expanded the offering with the addition of relevant winter items so you can be covered head to toe in Xenon clothing. Something Gore has always taken very seriously is visibility, their 360° reflective design approach is a key component of the range. For the new season they've introduced a new hi-vis 'apple green' to sit alongside the existing neon yellow.

Gore split the range down into Cold and Cool, to help you pick the right clothing for the riding conditions you're facing. Designed for the transition between summer and winter (that's autumn, then) the Cool System is all about versatility when it's not properly cold yet, but is going that way.

Top of the line is the £149.99 Xenon 2.0 AS jacket, made with the latest Windstopper Active fabric, Gore's lightest and most weatherproof fabric to date. Active Shell it their most advanced fabric to date. It's a 3-layer laminate and uses a lighter and thinner Gore-Tex membrane, and this liner is laminated to the backer textile using a new process. This gives the material far improved breathability while still keep the rain and wind out.

You get a lot of features as you would expect from Gore, including a zip pocket on the back, partial mesh lining, ergonomic collar, elastic sleeve cuffs, loads of reflective logos and piping and a dropped tail.

For times when the jacket is overkill, the Xenon 2.0 Thermo jersey is a good option. You can pair that with the newly introduced Universal SO leg warmers, to make layering for the conditions easier.

And when the temperature drops even more, the Cold System is ready with the £189.99 Xenon GT AS jacket. Packed with features and utilising the latest Gore fabrics and technology, it's designed for the muckiest weather the UK can throw our way.

It's shaped for riding in the drops or when you're reached out on the hoods with its anatomically shaped torso, dropped tail and arms that won't ride up leaving your wrists exposed.

Another staple of the range are the updated £149.99 Xenon 2.0 SO Bibtights+. They use Gore's Windstopper Soft Shell fabric for the best warmth on chilly days. A good top for training when you don't want to overheat is the £99.99 Xenon 2.0 Thermo Jersey.

A favourite of mine from last winter were the Xenon Gore-Tex gloves, few other gloves came close to offering the same level of protection these offered. They feature a waterproof membrane that keeps your hands dry and there's generous padding on the palm and a wide cuff with Velcro adjustment. Silicone coated finger tips aid with operating the brakes.

Using Gore's Windstopper fabric in these Xenon gloves works wonders when it's too cold outside for regular gloves.  Well insulated with gel padding on the heel of the hand, reflective print on the fingers and back of hand and an elastic cuff.

Plenty to look forward to from Gore then. See the website for details of the entire range at And the prices for all items in the new range are below.
