Fantasy Cycling: prizes announced for our bonus February races!

Here's what you can win if you're top of the pile on the Arabian peninsula.....

Roll up roll up! It's time for the second instalment in our Fantasy Cycling season. The second and third, in fact, as the pro peloton heads off to the Arabian peninsula for the Tour of Qatar (5-10 February) and the Tour of Oman (14-19 February). Not a bad area to spend your February, you should at least be guaranteed a bit of sun to work on those tan lines. Keep 'em sharp.

Those of you that have just joined the game (or haven't joined at all - head over to fantasy.road.cc for details) will be 831 points off the pace where the overall table is concerned, but that doesn't matter a jot. Each tour runs as a standalone competition and that means everyone's in with a shot at the prizes. Even if you come in halfway through the tour you could still win a stage...

And what are the prizes? Well, thanks to the lovely chaps at Upgrade Bikes you could be walking off with some serious, erm, upgrades to your bike's braking system. Top prize for these two tours is a set of 970SL brakes from TRP. We've tested these beauties and it's fair to say that they're a no-expense-spared option if you want really light, really good brakes. They weight just 104g per calliper, and your wallet would be pretty light too if you had to buy them at £399 a pair. But you won't have to, assuming you're the best at picking riders that excel in flat, sandy conditions.

Second placed Directeur Sportif in each of the two February tours will walk away with a Lezyne CNC Floor Drive pump worth £89.99, and third place gets a Lezyne Carbon Road Drive mini pump worth £79.99. And there's a Cycloc worth £59.99 for the winner of the purist competition for each tour, too.

On top of that you can win every day! On every stage there's a prize to be won for the highest score on the day. This time around you stand to win a GreenOil Eco Rider kit worth £34.99 if you're top of the pile on any given day, giving you no excuse to not have your bike looking just so.

Have we piqued your interest? Good! if you're not yet registered you can head over to fantasy.road.cc to find out more. The full list of who's riding the Tour of Qatar should be finalised by the end of next week ahead of the start on 5 February; the Tour Oman startlist should be broadly similar and it'll be finalised before the start of that race on 14 February. Happy picking and good luck!

I will conquer the arabian peninsula in a way that would drain the blood of Muhammad's face and make the Arabian conqusts look like horseplay! 45

I've been planning my team since the last day of Australia, when is it confirmed what riders will be there?

13 I'm sorry to sound negative but gold brakes is going a step too far. Cycling is an understated noble struggle of man and machine against the elements - not a pose down the high street on a Friday night. What next? Purple light tubes under the bottom bracket for that bling effect. I realise pro riders have to be decked out like gaudy pimps on LOUD decal bikes but I feel the rest of us should show some dignity.

Where's that quote I saved? Here we are...

"There is no line between opulence and bad taste - They are the same thing" Helen Simonson.

That's not a gold brake, that's a pretty classy-looking black brake with a bit of gold on it. THIS is a gold brake and fully deserving of a raspberry for poor taste...
