Rapha hosts Etape evening in London ahead of next month's two big sportives

Course recce and tips to help you get the most out of Acte I and/or Acte II

With less than four weeks to go before the first of an unprecedented two Etapes du Tour this year, Rapha is hosting its fourth annual Etape evening in London on 22 June to help ensure that entrants are fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

During the evening, two sessions will be held at London’s Charlotte Street Hotel, one covering what Etape organisers have billed as Acte 1 – covering the 109km event to be held on 11 July, the other focusing on Acte 2, which has a parcours of 208km and takes place on 17 July.

The two Etapes mirror, respectively, Stage 19 of this year’s Tour de France from Modane Valfrejus to Alpe d’Huez in the Alps, and Stage 9 from Issoire to Saint Flour in the Massif Central.

Rapha has undertaken a recce of both routes, with a full presentation being given on the evening, while staff from Cyclefit will be on hand to provide advice on tactics, gearing and hydration to help you get the most out of the ride if you’ve been lucky enough to secure a place on one – or both! – of them.

Places are limited to 80, so you’d better be quick if you want to be there. You can book by following this link and the cost is £15 per session, or £20 if you wish to attend both.

The cost includes pre-event drinks and canapes from 6.30pm, with the presentation for Acte I starting at 7pm. That’s followed by a half-hour interval at 8pm ahead of the presentation for Acte II, which lasts from 8.30-9.30pm.

I am assuming you mean the Etape evening is being held on 22nd Juneas there is not much point in having it after the event?
