Join us for the Mountain Mayhem Sportive sponsored by road.cc on 19 June!

100km and 50km routes in the Malvern sun, and a whole weekend of bike-related fun!

Clear the decks the date for this year's Mountain Mayhem Sportive has been announced, it's 19 of June and this year's it's sponsored by road.cc!  Like last year there will be 50km and 100km routes, and the aim is to be back at the festival by lunchtime or indeed "Munchtime" as it's called in Mountain Mayhem world so you can spend the afternoon enjoying some of the festival atmos and catch the end of the mountain bike racing if that takes your fancy.

Entry to the sportive costs is open now via the road.cc shop: click here to go to the entry page. We're planning to be organised enough to all be able to do the ride ourselves this year, so we hope to see you out on the road! Stay tuned for more details, and we'll be doing a ride recce as soon as the sun comes out...

The routes will be along the same lines as last year, although after rider feedback we'll be swapping out the B-road section from Powick to Upton for some more of those lovely Malvern lanes. Signing and feed stations will also be improved, although we're not sure we can improve on last year's weather! The course is undulating, it's got some stiff climbs in it but it's not a back-breaker so it's a great option if you're looking for a first sportive to do, or just a great day of riding.

The entry fee is £23, and that gets you a ride, electronic chip timing, a race photographer, a goody bag with a ride t-shirt and entry to Mountain Mayhem. You can also camp at Mayhem for the whole weekend – it's a fantastic spot just for a weekend away, let alone with a sportive and festival thrown in too. There's plenty for the rest of the family to see and do, so why not make a weekend of it? If you're feeling particularly hardy you could even get some night laps in on knobblies as part of a team before heading out on slicks in the morning!

You can find out about all the other things going on by visiting the Original Source Mountain Mayhem festival website. Obviously there will is the 24hour mountain bike race, but that is preceded by lots of other fun stuff too…

Midsummer Madness: On Friday night there will run around the Mayhem course for that growing group of people who enjoy off road running.

Pyjama Party: also on Friday evening is the first ever Pyjama Party for the kids, a fun run round special course for the kids to tire them out before bedtime. One condition: they will have to be in their pajamas. All participants will get a free hot chocolate at the end.

K9 Running: loads of people bring pooches to Mayhem and this year there'll be a chance to compete in an off-road run with your canine pal.

This was great fun last year. Everyone I spoke to had a great time and the weather was beautiful. And you get a goody bag!
