Red Bull's Million Mile Commute nears its end with just under 50,000 miles still to log... but we can do it!

Red Bull's Million Mile Commute Strava challenge finishes today, and with the counter at just over 950,000 miles, there's more riding to be done before we're over the line!...

Right then commuters, it’s crunch time... we know it’s stuffy out there at the moment, but we’re so close to that million mile target and are very close to making it over the line by the end of the day!

If you’re still sitting in traffic or being squished on a sweaty train then there really is no better time to get on your bike, run or walk to work tonight... not only will you be fitter and healthier for it, but it all counts towards hitting the lofty target of one million miles logged in one month as part of Red Bull’s Million Mile Commute campaign... better late than never!
For everyone who’s been taking part and logging those miles, it goes without saying just keep doing what your doing, maybe even do a little detour on your way home from work to tot up a few more miles! Every little helps and hopefully between some latecomers and one last big push from those of us already taking part, collectively we’ll get over the line.

For those who want to make a very very late entrance, just head over to Red Bull's Million Mile Commute Page and register. You'll need a Strava account of course, and when you log your activities as commutes they will be counted towards the running total. What’s more July miles logged on Strava before you registered will still count towards your total, which could be a massive help towards the million mile target if you’ve been quietly knocking out monstrous commutes all this month.

So what’s in it for you then? Well just by buying a can of Red Bull today you'll get an access code for 30 free days of Strava Premium for starters, and you're entered into prize draws as you reach numerous distance milestones: log 10 miles and you could win an Osprey Escapist Backpack, Hydroflask Bottles or a Stance Socks Gift Box; log 50 and you could win a one year Strava Premium membership; at 100 miles there's a Red Bull chiller with a year's supply of Red Bull up for grabs and if you log 250 miles, you could even win a Marin Fairfax SC3 bike courtesy of Cycle Surgery!

We’ll be watching Red Bull’s mile counter and all being well, it will have tipped over into the millions by the end of the day. See you at the finish line!

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.
