When you sign up to ride a spring sportive or watch a mid-May cycling event we all know there's one thing you can't count on: the weather.
That old adage held true this #mycyclingweekend as those of you who headed out for events on Saturday had a significantly damper time of things than those of us who rode out on Sunday.
That didn't stop us all from having a wonderful time, though. Just some people's post-ride ritual was a little more comfortable than other's.
This weekend's #mycyclingweekend road.cc sock winner was a man who got rather lucky with his sportive landing on Sunday.
Benofthershire climbed over 3000 ft as he took on the 100km Bank's Round the Wrekin Sportive. It looked fab, Ben.
Ben wasn't alone in enjoying the sportive sun. As we mentioned in our pre-weekend post, us road.cc-ers were out in force this weekend.
While some of us limited ourselves to watching the Tour Series whizz around Bath in the rain, our editor Tony and our man Stu headed out for some events.
We'd be impressed if Stu got home as dry and clean as some of you, though.
As far as weekends for firsts go, this one wasn't a bad one. Instagram user Timriordanmusic took on his first 100m race this weekend and it looks like he nailed it.
Congrats!
Equally, it looked like we had some cyclists out this weekend who have been around the block a few times.
It takes an old experienced head to pull of a celebration this trendy, right?
The sunny weather didn't coincide with everyone's planned spring cycling events, but that didn't stop those of you with a clear schedule heading out to get the miles in.
Martyn Kimberley took on both weekend days and cherished the difference on Sunday, while LindyLarkin used Sunday as an opportunity to track down a very old tree.
Remember, it's never too late to get involved in the #mycyclingweekend fun. Just pop your photos on Instagram or Twitter, pop the #mycyclingweekend hashtag in the caption, and you'll be in with a chance of winning a pair of road.cc socks!
