Hammond and Lloyd to join Garmin-Cervélo but Jeremy Hunt misses out

Six riders follow Hushovd to Garmin, including Heinrich Haussler

Slipstream Sports, owner of the Garmin-Transitions team, has today revealed that six more riders will join Thor Hushovd in moving across from Cervélo TestTeam, including the British riders Roger Hammond and Dan Lloyd.

The other riders are Australians Heinrich Haussler and Brett Lancaster, the Norwegian Gabriel Rasch and Germany’s Andreas Klier. Other current members of Cervélo TestTeam, including Britain’s Jeremy Hunt, will now be forced to look elsewhere for a ride next season.

The move follows last week’s announcements that Cervélo TestTeam was being disbanded at the end of the season, with the Canadian bike brand replacing Felt as Garmin’s bike supplier, the team being renamed Garmin-Cervélo.

“Team Garmin-Cervélo’s roster will be strong and versatile,” claimed Jonathan Vaughters, CEO, Slipstream Sports. “All of these riders bring a lot of experience to what’s already a great team. I’m proud of what we’ve done since 2008, and I’m excited for what we’ll do in 2011.”
