Well, we’re sad to say no hyenas were found on this week’s #mycyclingweekend safari, but there were some close encounters of the animal kind amongst your photos – so we’ve definitely got a Cycle Surgery prize winner!
The prize on offer this week was a Lezyne mini pump from the folks over at Cycle Surgery, and our lucky winner was Phil Thompson who caught this very moody picture of a bull out on his Sunday #mycyclingweekend ride.
We’re hearing mixed reports as to the legitimacy of this photo which Thompson took on his way towards the 1558m Alto de Aitana climb. Most of us here at road.cc fully believe this photo to be real – you naysayers sound like you’ve never seen one of Spain’s Valencian 40ft bulls.

On a somewhat smaller scale, Steff Marazzi got nice and close with the only wildlife for miles on his ride through the the Ardèche region of France.
On a somewhat more morbid note Twitter account @CyclingByrds, which appears to be run by cycling pair Monika & Björn who are undertaking a monumental Vancouver – San Francisco ride, said that their safari consistend of road kill. Specifically two deer, two racoons, and four skunks.
Perhaps it was just as well, the only creature they report to have seen live this #mycyclingweekend gave Monika a somewhat unwelcome peck on the lips.

Carlo Gironi gave us reason to reconsider the name of this #mycyclingweekend with his snap of this chicken. Given that the only actual animal shots we’ve received have been a beginning to think we should have called this the #mycyclingweekend farmyard visit.
Away from the animal talk – that assuming Twitter user @GP_UK1’s crash this weekend was totally un-animal related – we saw a pretty nasty spill.
We’re hoping everything’s alright and you’ll be back on the bike in no time.

Finally, it seems lushworks ended up on the closest thing to a savannah on this safari themed #mycyclingweekend – though there were no animals in sight.
Remember, to get involved in the #mycyclingweekend fun all you have to do is upload your riding photos to Instagram or Twitter and include the the #mycyclingweekend hashtag.
If you want to get involved with the Cycle Surgery prizes, though, you’ve got to remember to include the #CycleSurgery hashtag as well.
