Buy Wiggo's Team Sky time trial bike

You’ll get change from ten grand. Just.

If you’re looking for a new time trial bike and have got £9,999.99 knocking about, why not splash out on this Pinarello Bolide? Rumours that they dropped the price by a whole penny because it’s already got someone else’s name on it are unconfirmed.

Yes, it’s one of Sir Bradley Wiggins’ old bikes and it’s for sale from Dolan Bikes of Ormskirk.

The product description says that Pinarello engineers spent over a year working with Team Sky to improve on the time trial bike he used en route to winning the 2012 Tour de France – and this is the end result.

“If it is true that all bike manufacturers start from aerodynamics to create a time-trial bike, only a few go so far as to investigate the impact of the air flow on every single component with the manic approach as it was for us on this project.”

The end result was said to be a 15 per cent reduction in aerodynamic impact compared the Graal, its predecessor.

The 56.5cm bike comes with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic drivetrain, Mavix CXR wheels and 177.5mm cranks with a Stages power meter. Gearing is 58/44 with an 11-23 cassette.

More about the Pinarello Bolide

Alex has written for more cricket publications than the rest of the road.cc team combined. Despite the apparent evidence of this picture, he doesn't especially like cake.

Probably not the ideal bike for Hardknott.

Turning that 58/11 at 100rpm should be over 40mph I reckon.

I would but the additional cost of upping the gearing makes it uneconomical...
