The first road.cc #mycyclingweekend has come to an end, but what a weekend it was.
The road.cc inbox and our social media streams have been inundated with photos of your cycling endeavours, and it’s given us a fantastic insight into the cycling lives of you, our readers.
So, for the first time ever on road.cc, here’s your cycling weekend.
Over the last few days we’ve received snaps from all over the world – and even one that was out of this world, as one Facebook poster rode to Neptune and back as part of a science fair. Selfies, landscapes, and close-ups have featured bikes of all shapes, ages and sizes. There are shots of cyclists riding through the blazing sunshine, a few hard cases riding through the snow, but very few – if any – riders in the rain.
Alongside photos of science fair planet rides, there were also photos with the stars, as one poster spent their weekend riding with Irish cycling legend Sean Kelly.
Among the long list of pictures that we’ve thoroughly enjoyed browsing were some really great shots that we’ve decided to feature below. There were also some fabulous photos attached as comments to our Facebook posts which we put up on Friday, Sunday, and Monday morning, which we can't embed unfortunately.
Follow the links above, or head on over to our Facebook page to check those out – our personal favorites are the set of rollers in front of the fire sent in by Doug Atkins, the BSCA national roller racing champions via Chris Oldfield, and Paul Harris' entry in which he seems to be caught in a blizzard.
Of the photos we were sent 93 came from Instagram, 36 were sent in via Twitter, there were 96 Facebook posts, and 29 pictures shared in the comments of Friday’s introductory story.
Once we plugged all of those figures into the road.cc computer, we learnt that those of you who took part in the first road.cc #mycyclingweekend experiment provided us with 254 photos to enjoy – so thank you.
While we'd love to share each of your fantastic photos individually, we just don't have enough space. Don't be deterred though, there are plenty of weekends left, plenty of roads to ride, and plenty of cracking photos waiting to be taken.
Here are just a small selection of your photos, there are plenty more for you to feast your eyes on if you follow the Facebook links above, search #mycyclingweekend on Twitter, or on the Instagram iOS and Android application.
