How has your cycling year been? If you’re a regular user of Strava, you might just be interested in 2014 Strava Stories, a personalised video that summarises the highs of your cycling year
All you have to do is be logged into Strava and click this link (http://2014story.strava.com) and a short 30-second video highlighting your personal achievements will be created. You can then share it with friends and family via Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
Yes it’s a bit gimmicky, but it’s a nice visual reflection of your cycling year. The video includes all the important metrics such as total, elevation gain, biggest ride and longest climb, your highest suffer score, how many KOM or QOMs you have etc etc. It’ll also pull in Instagram photos too.
It’s been a busy year for Strava cyclists. The popular app and website, launched in 2009, has been used by cyclists to record a staggering 2.91 billion kilometres and a cumulative elevation of 29.1 billion meters in 2014.
According to Strava, the most active day of the year around the world was the first day of the Tour of Britain on Sunday 7th September, proving how popular cycling has become in the UK and the success of the Tour in getting people onto their bikes to watch the home tour. And also how popular Strava is with British cyclists.
Have you got a 2014 Strava Story? Why not link it in the comments below. Here’s Ted King’s Strava Story (http://2014story.strava.com/video/8758) to get the ball rolling.

"Bit gimmicky...?"
Yes. I can say with some confidence that my family and friends would find my tedious Strava stats less than fascinating.
We share too much!!
Well it shows how popular Strava is among MAMILs in the UK, not sure that it really says more than that...
