Mike Cotty holds Facebook Q&A tonight on his epic Mont Blanc ride

Your chance to quiz British rider about last week’s 1,012km non-stop trip through Alps

Last week, British cyclist Mike Cotty undertook what he had described beforehand as his “toughest challenge yet” – and this evening, he will be taking to his sponsor Mavic’s Facebook page to participate in a Question & Answer session about how he did it.

Cotty rode 1,012 kilometres from Conegliano in Italy to Chamonix in France, a journey that took him over 21 mountain passes in Italy, Switzerland and France, for a total height gain of 21,250 metres.

What’s more, he did the ride, known as the Road to Mont Blanc, without stopping, completing it in around 53 hours on this Cannondale SuperSix Evo HiMod 2014.

The Q&A session this evening starts at 6pm BST, 7pm CET, on Mavic’s Facebook page, and the company says that potential topics for questions could include “preparation, equipment choices, the hardest moments, nutrition, how he held it together and anything else you may wish to know.”

Cotty was followed on his epic ride by a film crew, with the final video due to appear in the coming weeks.
