Vittoria has unveiled four new mountain bike tyres, covering cross-country and gravity uses. Each tyre is also e-bike compatible, and available in either brown or black sidewalls in 2.4in options for those style-conscious riders among us.

- Vittoria has expanded the Mezcal range and added a new tyre, the Peyote
The tyres utilise Vittoria’s Trail 4C tread, which offers a four graphene-infused compound. This, according to the brand, minimises rolling resistance whilst also increasing durability. Each tyre in the trail and down-country categories are available in a Trail 60-TPI casing, which offers sidewall protection as well as a lightweight single-ply design.
The new Vittoria Trail tyres

So what are the new tyres, and what type of MTB riding do they lend themselves to? First up is the Terreno XC tyre. Gravel riders might recognise the name, and funnily enough, these ones are gravel-inspired, with Vittoria suggesting they’re best-suited to smooth, dry hardpack terrain.
The fish scale-like tread in the centre of the tyre lends itself to fast riding, but there is some cornering grip to be had with the tyre’s shoulder knobs. They’re available for 29in wheels only, with widths between 2.1in and 2.4in.

The Peyote XC Trail is designed for fine loose conditions, which essentially means it’s dry but a bit loosey goosey. It uses the Vittoria V-formation tread pattern design with cornering lugs on the shoulder of the tyre. It’s available in 29 x 2.1in to 29 x 2.6in sizes.
Finally in the XC category is the Torrente XC Trail. This tyre is for XC riders encountering muddy and harsh terrain. It features spaced out lugs which offers what Vittoria claims is a “self-cleaning” design. It’s available in widths between 29×2.25in and 29×2.6in.

Moving onto the gravity category, the Mostro Trail is Vittoria’s latest addition. Designed for “loose terrain” conditions, it uses alternating mid and centre lugs with a progressive siped tread profile for better grip. Available to fit 27.5in or 29in wheels, the Mostro Trail comes in 2.4in and 2.6in width options.
All tyres are set to be available in November and cost €72.95.
