Live blog: British rider breaks European cycling speed record, sabotage warning to Shropshire riders + more

All today's news from the site and beyond...

Simon joined road.cc as news editor in 2009 and is now the site’s community editor, acting as a link between the team producing the content and our readers. A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.

That video of the old boy getting on the exercise bike after the kid video'd his old route, beautiful

#onionsindecision.

The Spanish at the end roughly translates to 'help the neighbour to be happy it's one of the greatest pleasures of life. Good training.'

I'm impressed with the translation, especially as I believe it's Portuguese. It certainly isn't Castellano.

"This will really help cyclists know which part of the road is theirs to use. #cycling"

Cyclists already know:  all of it .  It's the other maniacs that don't seem to know smiley

Cycle rack location- I found out where it was by the incredible investigative skill of clicking the Twitter link, and the second post explained the full story behind it. Copenhagen.

"It was because of the car, parked next to the site.
When the car moved, they just turned the rack, not the posts.
From 2015 in Copenhagen."

Got to be honest, that's an entirely reasonable and really quite boring explanation...

"You had one job."  Judging by the apparently fresh material on the ground around the posts of this cycle rack, I reckon that local drivers dug it up and turned it around, creating some desperately needed car parking.

"When you see a horse on the road – slow down to 15mph."

Does that mean we slower riders should put a bit of a sprint on when we see a horse?

(No. No, it doesn't.)

"Contributing to their demise might have been ... the high price which ranged from $30 to $45. "

So HD are keeping tradition going in more ways than one. (I wonder how much that price will increase once Trump's barmy tariff war starts to bite.)
